Subject:Award Public Works’ Construction Agreement to Maples and Associates for
the Cement Plaster and Installation (Proposal Set “I”) at Rosetta Canyon
Sports Park Phase II Project (CIP PROJECT #Z40004).
Recommendations
1. Award a Public Works’ Construction Agreement to Maples and Associates for the Cement
Plaster and Installation (Proposal Set “I”) at Rosetta Canyon Sports Park Phase II Project (CIP
PROJECT #Z40004).
2. Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement in the not to exceed
amount of $72,416.36 with Maples and Associates in the form attached and in such final form
as approved by the City Attorney.
Background
On May 2, 2016, staff initiated and advertised on the City’s website, City Clerk board outside
and in the local newspaper a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Cement Plaster and
Installation (Proposal Set “I”) at Rosetta Canyon Sports Park Phase II Project (CIP PROJECT
#Z40004).The Proposal Set “I” submittal deadline was May 17, 2016,at 4:00P.M.
Two proposals were received on or before the deadline. This contractor (Maples and
Associates) was interviewed and determine responsive and complete and the proposal amount
is within the anticipated cost estimate for the scope of work.
Discussion
The purpose of this proposal is to seek competitive pricing) for the Cement Plaster and
Installation (Proposal Set “I”) at Rosetta Canyon Sports Park Phase II Project (CIP PROJECT
#Z40004). The overall essentials in this scope of work are summarized below as general
requirements:

Following the approval of this agenda item work will immediately begin on the field chain link
fencing at Rosetta Canyon Sports Park. Staff has reviewed and verified the contractor has a
valid license and a review of the contractor’s references and pervious Diamond Stadium work
reflect no issues with the quality and performance of their work.
Fiscal Impact
Rosetta Canyon Sports Park Phase II Project is included in the Fiscal Year 15/16 – 19/20
Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget
