SUBJECT: Award Public Works’ Construction Agreement to Wolverine Fence for
the Ball Field Back Stop Poles at Rosetta Canyon Sports Park Phase II
Project (CIP PROJECT #Z40004)
Recommendations
1. Award a Public Works’ Construction Agreement to Wolverine Fence. for the ball field
back stop poles at Rosetta Canyon Sports Park Phase II Project (CIP PROJECT #Z40004).
2. Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement in the not to exceed
amount of $108,092.00 with Wolverine Fence in the form attached and in such final form as
approved by the City Attorney.
3. Authorize the City Manager to execute change orders not to exceed the 10% contingency
amount of $10,809.00 for minor as needed adjustments.
Background
Staff initialed bid proposals for the Flat Work and Back Stop Fencing at Rosetta Canyon
Sports Park Phase II. Utilizing Bid Set “B3” contractors provided work proposals based on
the structural engineering and architecture plans for the ball filed back stop poles.
Two Proposals were received on or before March 14, 2016. The contractor, Wolverine
Fence, providing the lowest proposal was interviewed and it was determined responsive.
Discussion
The purpose of this proposal is to seek a competitive pricing for the purchase and
construction of the ball field back stop poles at Rosetta Canyon Sports Park Phase II
Project Bid Set “B3” (CIP PROJECT #Z40004). The overall essentials in this scope of work
are summarized below as general requirements:

The following bids were received from qualified contractors on or before the deadline and
are listed below in the amount of bid sequence (lowest to highest):

Following the bid opening, Staff reviewed and verified all bids for completeness. Wolverine
Fence was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The contractor
has a valid license and a review of the contractor’s references showed no issues with the
quality of their work.
Fiscal Impact
Rosetta Canyon Sports Park Phase II Project is included in the Fiscal Year 15/16 – 19/20
Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget.
