A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE
ELSINORE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF A
LITTER AND ILLEGAL DUMPING AD HOC SUBCOMMITTEE
WHEREAS, no person shall dump or place upon any private or public property
within the City of Lake Elsinore any garbage, cans, bottles or other waste material or
similar substances; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elsinore is 43 square miles and has more than 8,000
vacant parcels that are often used for illegal rubbish and dumping; and
WHEREAS, the City seeks to keep Lake Elsinore clean, beautiful and safe, and
on January 26, 2016, Council Member Steve Manos requested the City Council of the
City of Lake Elsinore, California ( "City ") create a Litter and Illegal Dumping Ad -Hoc
Subcommittee of the City Council.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Authorizes the creation of a Litter and Illegal Dumping Ad Hoc
Subcommittee of the City Council.
SECTION 2. The committee shall be made up of two Council Members and City
staff, as determined by the City Manager.
SECTION 3. The meetings shall be held on an as needed basis as determined by
the committee in a City facility based upon availability.
SECTION 4. The purpose of the committee is to closely review litter and illegal
dumping within the City, evaluate existing procedures and identify ways to educate and
engage the community to reduce littering and dumping within the City.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
SECTION 6. This Resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage
and adoption.
