Recommendations
Approve the name “Summerly Community Park” for the 24 acre park site located in the
Summerly development.
Background
The Summerly development is located in the East Lake Specific Plan . As part of this
project, the developer is conditioned to construct a 24 acre City park. Summerly McMillin
LLC will begin construction in the near future.
The park will be built in three phases and includes four ballfields; one soccer field; one
basketball court; skate park; dog park; two tennis courts; age appropriate play areas;
restroom/concession building; amphitheater; parking; benches; tables; drinking fountains
and walkways.
Pursuant to City policy, the Community Services Department forwards recommendations
to the Council regarding the naming of public facilities. The developer has requested that
“Summerly” be included in the name. To be consistent with other parks within the City,
