SUBJECT: APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A 2014 JOHN DEERE MOWER WITH
STOTZ EQUIPMENT FOR DIAMOND STADIUM
Recommendation
Approve the purchase of a 2014 John Deere 8700 Precision Cut Fairway Mower in the
amount of $44,999.00 from Stotz Equipment for the continued maintenance of Diamond
Stadium.
Background
On September 23, 2014 the Successor Agency and Oversight Board approved the
second amendment to the stadium interim management agreement which included a
capital repair schedule with estimated costs of capital repairs and equipment for the
next four six -month ROPS periods beginning with ROPS 14 -15B.
In November the Successor Agency received approval from the state Department of
Finance authorizing the funding for the capital repair schedule for ROPS period 14 -15B.
The purchase of a new mower for Diamond Stadium was included in the approved
capital repair schedule.
Discussion
The Diamond Stadium has been hosting sporting events and live entertainment venues
for over 20 years. The stadium is now beginning to shows signs of its age. In order to
maintain this significant City asset it is important that we invest in the ongoing repair and
replacement of the stadium. The purchase of this 2014 John Deere 8700 PrecisionCut
Fairway Mower will ensure the baseball field will continue to be maintained in pristine
condition for another 20 years.

Storm Baseball staff solicited three quotes from authorized John Deere dealerships.
Stotz Equipment was selected as the lowest price dealer for the purchase of this
mower,
Fiscal Impact
Sufficient funds have been authorized by the Oversight Board and Department of
Finance to fund the purchase of this mower. The Successor Agency has received the
funds for this purchase directly from the County as a part of the Real Property Tax Trust
Funds (RPTTF) allocation.
