Good morning Virginia
Hope all is well and this finds you in great spirits
As for our team this is only the second season we have playing together. The spring of
2011 (Our first season), we played Coast Soccer league and did surprisingly well. The
team pulled a fourth place finish out of 12 teams. We then played our first tournament in
the city of Yucaipa (YVYSO Spring Cup) were we beat a field of 10 teams to win the
championship.
We played the Independence Cup in San Berdardino, we managed a 6 place out of 12
teams
We played the Kick off Festival in San Berdardino, we placed 7 our of 16 teams
Then we played the California Spring cup, where we were named the California State
Champions.
Next weekend, Labor day weekend we are traveling to Las Vegas to participate in their
invitational tournament. Last I checked over 400 teams from all over the nation are
coming to compete and we hope we can add one more medal to our small count.
Also July of 2013 we are hoping to be playing in the States Games of America in
Hershey, Pennsylvanian

Good morning Coach Matzuy:
In preparation of the team's recognition at next week's Council meeting, I will need information
in order to prepare the Certificate; please provide me with the team record and various levels of
accomplishments reached this year. I have been provided the names of the players and
coaches, however if you wish to point out specific recognition, I will need that information.
Our Council meetings on held on Tuesdays and your teams recognition has been scheduled for
next week Tuesday, August 28th. Our meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and Presentations and
Ceremonies are the first up on the Agenda therefore we ask that you and your team be present
prior to 7:00 p.m. You and your team not required to stay for the whole meeting, however you
are welcome to. The meeting will be held at the Cultural Center located at 183 North Main
Street and is open to the public so please invite everyone to join us that evening.
Please confirm your teams appearance at next Tuesday's meeting and provide the requested
information as soon as possible. I plan to distribute the agenda for this meeting this Thursday
and will provide it to you via email. If you wish hard copy, please provide a mailing address.

LAKE EL S INORE : Under -9 team wins state
soccer tournament
The Elsinore Extreme FC Under -9 soccer team took top honors at the California
State Games.

The Elsinore Extreme F.C. boys under 9 years soccer team competed in the
California State Games July 21 and 22, and won the title of State Champions.
Along with the win they have been invited to play in 2013 State Games of
America being held in Hershey, Penn., a national tournament.
Mayor Brian Tisdale has invited the team members to the Tuesday, Aug. 28 City
Council meeting, so they can receive a certificates from the city for their
accomplishment.
The boys played hard, all weekend long and won their championship game with
a resounding score of 5 -0. The team was led by the excellent play of Chris
Saucedo and Alex Lopez, who combined for an amassing 18 goals in only four
games.
Also providing outstanding play on goal was Michael Matzuy, allowing all the
other teams, only five goals the entire weekend.
This is the team's second championship in as many tries. They now have their eyes set on
San Diego Premier Classic, Aug. 11 and 12; and the Las Vegas Invitational during the
Labor day weekend in Las Vegas.
