That is the intention of this email. Our organization, Voices For Pets (www.voicesforpets.o[g), was vital in ensuring that Timothy Kooyman was convicted & imprisoned for his horrific actions of torture & murdering of multiple cats. He is due to be released from prison on May 19, 2012 to the custody of his parents in Canyon Lake therefore we are alerting surrounding cities & communities so that they are aware & can keep their pets safe. We have already notified Animal Friends of the Valley as well as law enforcement & the city of Canyon Lake. We feel it is important that surrounding cities be on alert as well because he is known for trolling neighborhoods looking for friendly cats to nab. Please review the attached flyer with more details about this man, including his photo. I ask that you provide a copy of the flyer to each member attending the City Council meeting tomorrow evening. If I was able to attend, I would also provide copies of the flyer to audience members but unfortunately I won't be able to do that - if you are able, that would be great but I understand if you cannot. Does Lake Elsinore have its own newspaper? It would also be beneficial for this information to be printed so that it can reach more of the Lake Elsinore residents. The Friday Flyer printed a story for its Canyon Lake residents. Should you have any questions or need any more information, please feel free to contact myself (909) 222 -4736 or our Director, Leroy Moyer (925) 685 -5388. Thank you for your time & assistance! ** PLEASE CONFIRM RECEIPT OF THIS EMAIL WITH A SIMPLE REPLY ** Thank you kindly, Pao a lct/ HaW Vol"ntmr Voic,ekFor Petk 5/7/2012 Alert 1 In April 2008, Timothy Kooyman deliberately went looking for, and took, 3 cats and 1 kitten while he was living at a Corona motel. He took each cat back to his room and systematically tortured them using an axe to decapitate one, an X -acto knife to cut the stomach open of another, scissors to cut off their tails, and matches and lighter fluid to burn them. He drowned one of them in the bathtub. Their legs were bent back, snapped, and broken. The victims were a calico, a black and white (Tuxedo), and a Siamese (color of kitten unknown). They all died a lingering, painful death. The motel maid found fur and blood all over Kooyman's room, including inside the mini - refrigerator. In May of 2008, Timothy Kooyman drove around neigh - borhoods in Alta Loma and Rancho Cucamonga, and stole 3 pet cats, then tortured them for hours. Legs were broken; tails were cut off; one's eye was stabbed. One of those cats was doused with gasoline and burned alive, which caused a brushfire in the hills above Etiwanda Avenue. When Kooyman was arrested in Rancho, 2 cats were found in his truck amongst bloodied towels in plastic, sealed storage containers, still alive and gasping for air. Their injuries were so severe that they had to be humanely euthanized. One of these cats had microchip ID, and the owner was notified. The victims were 2 black shorthairs and a brown tabby.
