Good Evening respective City Council members,
My Name is Bentley Brown I am the Lake Elsinore Resident business owner of All Day Jet Ski
and Boat rentals. I have been successfully operating on Lake Elsinore and going on my four year
of operations. I am requesting that City Council reduce the annual lake passes required by the
City to operate on the Lake from $350 which is the commercial rate to $150 which is the resident
rate.
For the past 8 years 6 day water craft rentals and All Day Jet Ski have been granted a reduction
in cost each year. The lakes department and City Manager have only charged the local annual
resident rate not a commercial annual pass rate. Six Day rental was forced to close in 2010 due
to poor sales relying on the local residents for business. Our business is internet driven
with substantial target marketing. We target LA and Orange County as our customer base. Our
customer target customers drive and average of 70 miles one way to have an enjoyable
safe experience jet ski with family and friends. We afford our Jet Ski Renters a service that no
other on location jet ski rental company offers. We offer supervised group sharing of time on the
jet skis. A group of 50 people will come and rent 2 jet skis for 4 hours while having
a wonderful experience on the lake BBQing,Valley Ball, Wading, and having a great time.
Last year All Day Jet brought an estimated 7,000 people to the local economy of Lake Elsinore
which would have most likely have not driven to this area if it weren't for the service and the
prices we offer. Our prices are the main draw for our customer base to drive to Lake Elsinore.
Our prices are 40% cheaper than our competitors in LA and Orange county Market. Our prices
have remained the same since 2009 despite fuel prices doubling,inflation,raised insurance
cost,etc... We are going to be renting up to 14 skis this season if we can afford to. 14 Skis @
$350 a ski adds up to $4,900 (or 240 rental hours to cover this cost).
