Subject: City Council Agenda Item #9 (Monster Massive Special Event)
Bob—I received a call this morning from a citizen informing me of Item #9 (Monster Massive Special
Event) on tonight's City Council Agenda.
Since we were not aware of the application or hearing until today, I apologize for contacting you so late in
the process, and for having to send an email (I am unable to attend tonight's meeting).
It is my understanding that the proposed "electronic dance music festival" could have up to approximately
35,000 people in attendance, and would be located in the area either on or surrounding the motocross
track and, therefore, directly adjacent to McMillin /Civic's Summerly residential community.
We do not have enough information to adequately assess how the event might affect Summerly.
However, I wanted to make you and the City Council aware that an event of this size raises concerns
regarding how noise, traffic, lighting public safety and other impacts will be addressed given its location
directly adjacent to a residential community.
As you may know, there are currently nine families living in Summerly, and Richmond American recently
opened for sales a new neighborhood.
I would like to schedule time to discuss with you and your staff the details of this event.
Thank you.
Brian Milich
