FOR THE HOLniNG OF A SPECIAL ELECT IQ TO BE HELD 0 THE CITY
CF ELSINORE ON TEE 24_ DAY CY MARCH 1925, FOR THE PURPCSE
OF ELLCTING A CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY TO BEEVE OUT THE UN-
EXPIRED TERM OF W11LIAN HERBERT, 1,110 WAS ELECTED TO SAID
CFFICE ON THE 14th DAY OF APRIL 1924.
iTVFHEREAS, William Herbert, the duly elected, qualified and acting City
Clerk of the City of Elsinore, California, has resigned said office to take effec.
at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees of kid City, and
WHEREA31 This Board has accepted said resignation to toe effect when
his successor is elected and qualified for said office, and
WHEREAS, This Board of Trustees did, at a regular meeting of said
Board held on the 2nd day of March 1925, duly pass a resolution calling a special
election to fill said vacancy,
NOW, THEEEFORS, The Board of Trustees of the City of Elsinore do ordain
as follows:
Section I. That a Special Election be held and the same is hereby
calltd, and ordered to be told in the City of Elsinore, on the 24th day of Marla
1925, for the purpose of electing a City Clerk to serve out the unexpired term of
Willipm Herbert.
Section 2. That the polls for said election shall be opened at eight
(8) o'clock a.m. on the day of said election and shall close at six (6) o'clock
p.m� of saidday, when the said polls shall be closed, Provided, however, that if
nt said hour of closing there shall be any voters in the polling place or in
line who have rot voted and who are qualified to v ote but have beaa unable to do
since appearing, said polls shall be kept open long enough to permit said persons
to vote, but no person appearing after said hour of sit (6) o'clock shall be al-
lowed or parmittsd to vote at said election, although the polls may be open when
such person appears.
Section 3. The ballot to be used shall bear the names of all candilate
who have filed petitions as and in the manner required at regular municipal elect-
ions in Citjes of the sixth Class, and the person receiving the highest number
of votes at said election shall be elected to serve out the unexpired term of said
William Herbert, and said successful candidate shall be sworn in and inducted into
office at the next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees after the holding of
said election
Section 4. Said special election shall be held and had in all respect:
in the form and manner and under the r4les and regulations prescribed by low for
the holding of regular municipal elections.
Section 5. That for the purpose of the holding of said election, all
of the voting precincts in the City of Elsinore shall be consolidated into one
voting precinct to be known as "Consolidated Voting Precinct A", which Qonsoli-
dated territory consists of all of the territory within the corporate limits of
the City; that the City Hall of the City of !Elsinore is hereby designated as
the polling plate in which said election shall be hold. The following persons
being competent and qualified electors of said City and residents thereof . are
hereby appointed officers of said Special Election; Inspector, G. Z. Hess;
Judge, G, H. Judd; Clerks, Viola 1. Catt and Dora Merrifield.
Section 6. 7hat in all particulars not recited herein said election
shall be conducted as provided by law for the holding of such elections.
Section 4 That the Board of Trustees of said City shall meet, canvass
and declare the result of said election at the usual place of meoting of said
Bound on the 30th day of March 1925, at the hour of 7:30 P=
Section 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the sane to be published twice in the Lake Elsinore
Valley Press, for two successive weeks and no other notice of said election shall
be given.
Section 9. That this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passqge
