SECTION 17. ROOFS. The roofs of all Class "A" buildings shall be constructer of concrete, brick arches, or terra cotta tile, the upper surface of which shall oe covered w 'h a s-o `,un ^.l Jr' ' 1, ee:1e)lt, concrete , tile, or other fireproof roofing. SEC11CN? 18. SKYLIGHTS. Skyli.gnt frames on all Class "A" buildings shall be constructed entirel; of metal, and all such skylights shall be glazed with Hired glass not lass than one quarter (4) inch thick, and no light therein shall .e larger than sixteen (16) inches by forty eight (48) inches. SVCTICi7 19. FL,ORLIC-?TS. 'here floor lights are used, the shall be con- structed "of iron or steel, or reinforced concrete frames, and any light of glass " therein greater in area than sixteen (16) square inches shall be paired glass, and all floor lights shall be of the same_ relative strength as the floors in which they are placed. SECTION, 20. ELEVATOR E:NCLOSUP S. Every elevator in all Class "A" buildings ` shall be enclosed in a pa.rtion constructed of fireproof material, extending from the basement floor to the underside o£ the first floor; all doors in such enclosures must be constructed of metal or of wood covered wit ?: metal, all glass in such enclosures shall be v:ired glass, not less than one quarter (�) inch thick, and set in metal frames. SECTION 21, CORNICES. No cornice on any Class "A" building shall exceed in width from the face of the wall to the outer ea e of such cornice one(,) inch for each foot in height of the building from the level of the first floor, but in no case shall any cornice have a greater projection than five (5) feet. SECTION 22. STAIR'«tS. Every class "A" building shall have at least one (1)' stain interior stair:aay, not less then foes (4) feet wide; from the first floor ! to the roof, constructed entirely of fireproof material. No stairway shall surround or be adjacent to an elevator shaft, or open well hole unless separated from same by a ,,.rtitioned wall of fireproof mat &rials; or unless tifere is in the building a.noter interior stairway, not less than four (4) feet _aide, from tae first floor to the roof, not adjacent to any such shaft or well hole; but in no c -.se shall there be less than two (2) interior stairways to any floor of .More than ten thousand (10000) square feet of area from the top to the second floor of any such balding. PART 4 CLASS "B" BUILDINGS SECTIOX 25'.:U, FI. TITIO_a A.ND LI HIT OF HEI "GHT. SECTION 27. STRUCTURAL LEETAL. All iron or steel girders and beams carrying .masonry, and all iron or steel columns shall be fire proof as provided for in 'lass "A" buildings. SECTION 81. CURTAIN WALLS. Where fire walls extend more than three (3) feet six (6) inches above adjoining roof line they shall be anchored with three-quarter (24) inch rods', secured to the roof and built in to brickwork and spaced not more than ten (10) feet apart. Recesses for stairways and eleva*' tors may be left in the wells of buildings provided that no portion of such walls are of less thickness than the walls of the fourth story unless re- inforced by additional piers with iron or steel girders, or iron or steel columns and a sec rely,andhored to walls on each side. Chimneys of terra cotta pipe may be e erected in one story buildings outside of Zone No. 1,,2,-3, and 4;t' and if supported on brackets they must be securely fastened to the building and there must be a; clear , space of two inches between such chimneys and any wood work. No such.chimneys shall be concealed in any part. SECTION 86. INSTANTANEOUS hEATEFS. Every instantaneous or other gas heater shall be provided with a vent pipe not less than three inches in diameter ex- tending clear through and at least twelve inches above the roof, witha T con - necticn on the top; and around every such vent at all places not exposed there shall be a galvanized iron sleeve extending the full length of the concealed portion with a clear air space not less than one (1) inch surrounding aar- the vent. In every room fitted with an instantaneous heater there shall be provided an air inlet independent of doors and windows. SECTION 87. SMCKEPIP S. No smokepipes, terracotta, or earthenware pipe except as elsewhere provided shall extend.through an% wa l or window, or through the roof of any skylight of any building. That only Class 'A ", "B ", or "C" buildings shall be built or Al y constructed in District or Zone No.l, of the City of Elsinore, California., as said Zone is platted, outlined,on record and on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Elsinore , SECTION 90 That only those buildings and structures clasified in this ordinance as "A ", "B ", "C ", and "D" building shall be built or constructed in that partof the City 'of Elsinore bound and included with that part of said City as District of Zone No. 2 on map or platt described in Section; 89 of this Ordinance. SECTION 91, That it shall be lawful to build and construct any of the buildings permitted to be built under the provision of t his ;CrBinance, in that part of said ;City of Elsinore marked as Zone or District No.3 as the same appears on the map or platt described in Section 89 of this ordinance. SECTION 92. That Zone or District No. 4, as the ;same appears on the map or lett referred in section 89 shall be known as the industrial district of the City of Elsinore, and any and all buildings mentioned and described in this estrictions as are contained in this Ordinance.
