Section 1. It shall be,unlacr£ul for an; aerson, assoc.a-
tion of persons or corporation to conduct er a s^ si.st in conducting
any public dance li 1, ,.aneirg club or any _aiblic c:.nco in hs, City
of Elsinore on Suety or `.etwoen the hours of -o�m lvo oioloelc mid-
night and six o'clock A.;,4. on any day.
Section ` -. It shr 1! he unlaviful for any l)arson, associa-
tion of Dersons or co.rnoration to conduct; or assist; in conducting
any rublic dance hall, cianc:i.ng club or any public d�_nce in tha City
of '�lsinore at other times than those specified in Section 1 hereof,,
unless under and by authority of a written permit from tho City
Council of said City.
Section_ 3. Such arnit contain the _�nm�e and address

Section 4. The City Council may make rules and regula-
tions governing dances hold under permits issued in accordance with
the terms of this Ordinance, and shall recuire 1;P1at a police officer,
to be designated by the City Council., shall be in attendance at all '..

be fixod by the Council and shall be doposited by the pormiteo with
the City Cleric beforo said nermit is i�- ,sued. Said dances shall be
conducted in accordance with such rules and regulations and all of
the laws of the State of California and in such manner as will. com-
port with the public welfare.
The City Council, before issuing any permit, will first
satisfy itself that the conduct of such dance will. comport with the
public welfare and for such purpose any fact or facts or evidence
bearing on the place where such proposed dance is to be located, the
characte °, reputation and moral fitness of those who will be in
charge of it, and any other facts or evidence tending_; to enlighten
said Council in this respect may 'co - presented to the Council
Section 5. A license feo of 82.00 shall be charged and

Section u. For the purpose of this Ordinance;
(a) "Public da ce hall" is defined to le a n1,iac

the public is allowed to participate in the danci.rn;, either ;vith or
withouk charge.
(b) A "dancing club." is defined to be any club
or any association of persons, the chief purpose and activity of
which club is to conduct dances for its meleb•s1:s or guests, or "vhicl,

(c) A "public dance." is defined to be a gather-
ing of persons in or upon any premises when -a (I- )ncing is participated.

Section 7. Any person violating any of the provisions '..
! of this Ordinanco shall be deemed ouJl.ty of e misdemeanor and shall, .
upon conviction ther:of, be fined in the sum of not raore than Three
IIundred (A300.00) Dollars, or be- imprisoned in the City Jail of said
City for not more than three months, or by both such fine and im-
nrisonment.
Se c+, 1. on 8. Ordinance No. 187 and Section 26 of Ordin-
anco No.. 161, and all other Ordinances or parts; of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are horeby repealed.
Section 9. The City CL rk shall c-- artify to the adop-
tion of this Ordinance and causa the same to be -ou i,lished once in
the Elsinore Leader - Press, a newspaper of g,eneral circulation printed,
published and circulz.te] in the City of Elsinore.

I, C. J. Kalina, the duly elected, qualified and acting
Clerk of the City of Elsinore, California, do hereby cs;rtify that
the £ore e;oinl., Ordinance was duly and regularly introduced on the
28th day of June, 1943, and was passed and adopted by the City
Council of said City of Elsinore at a regular mooting of said Coun-
cil, held on the 28th day of June, 1943, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen: Lovejoy, Merrifield, Perret,
Mills and Matich.
Noes: None
