Section_ 3. The City Council may make rules and regula- tions governing dances hold under permits issued in accordance with the terms of this Ordinance, and shall recuire 1;P1at a police officer, to be designated by the City Council., shall be in attendance at all '.. tildes during said dance. Said dances shall be conducted in accordance with such rules and regulations and all of the laws of the State of California and in such manner as will. com- port with the public welfare. The City Council, before issuing any permit, will first satisfy itself that the conduct of such dance will. comport with the public welfare and for such purpose any fact or facts or evidence bearing on the place where such proposed dance is to be located, the characte °, reputation and moral fitness of those who will be in charge of it, and any other facts or evidence tending_; to enlighten said Council in this respect may 'co - presented to the Council Section 5. Section 7. Any person violating any of the provisions '.. ! of this Ordinanco shall be deemed ouJl.ty of e misdemeanor and shall, . upon conviction ther:of, be fined in the sum of not raore than Three IIundred (A300.00) Dollars, or be- imprisoned in the City Jail of said City for not more than three months, or by both such fine and im- nrisonment.
