SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION
Recommendation
The Council sub - committee will make its recommendation to the Mayor and Council for
consideration of two (2) full -term appointments to the City's Planning Commission. A vote will
be called for each nomination, and the applicant receiving the highest number of affirmative
votes from the majority of the Council present shall be appointed to serve on the City's
Planning Commission for a term commencing on July 1, 2014 and ending on June 30, 2018.
Discussion
The term of office for two sitting Planning Commissioners expires on June 30, 2014.
Pursuant to City Council Policy No. 200 -5A, the City Clerk's Department published and
posted the Notice of Accepting Applications for Consideration of Appointment to the City's
Planning Commission during the month of April. A total of six applications were received by
the filing deadline. On June 6, the Council sub - committee consisting of Council Member
Magee and Council Member Hickman, conducted interviews of all six applicants, including:
Shelly Jordon, Rick Morsch, Adam Armit, Sharon Tisdale, Jerome Shilo and Bret Caulder,
The Council Sub - committee nominates the following Planning Commission applicants for
consideration by the City Council:
Shelly Jordan Adam Armit
Copies of each application have been distributed to the City Council under separate cover
and the originals are maintained in the City Clerk's Department.
