HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Reso No 1962-1075 RESOLUTION NO. 1075 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELSINORE, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL EtECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF ELSINORE ON THE lOth DAY OF .APRIL, 1962, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, a regular general municipal electi€>n was held and. conducted. in the City of Elsinore, County of Riverside, State of California, om Tuesday, the lOth day of April, 1962, as required. by law; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and. regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed ana that in all respects said. electioll was held. and conQucted and the votes east thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made ana declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions (!)f the Elections Code of the State of California for the holGling of elections in general law cities; and WHEREAS, on the 17th day of April, 1962, at the hour of 7:30 P.M., the City Council d.uly assembled at its usual place of meeting and. has canvassed the returns of said. election and as a result of which, the City Council finds that the number of votes cast ana the names of the persons voted for, the office each perS011 was voted for, and other matters required by law to be as stated hereillafter; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELSINORE, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE ASFOtLOWS: SECTION 1. That there were four (4) voting precincts established for the purpose of holding saia electiom consisting of cOJ.!l.solidatioms of the regular election precincts ill the City of Elsinore as established for the holding of state and county electioms. SECTION 2. That said regular general mlmicipal electiom was held for the purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required by the laws relating to general law cities in the State of California, to wit: Two (2) Members of the City- COUBcil of said City for the .:full term. of four ,..ears. SECTION 3. Taat at said regular general m1mieipal eleetioll, the following measure was submitted to the electors of said City, to wit: Shall each member 0f the City Coumcil of the City of Elsinore receive a monthly compensation of $50.00 for his services'? -1... SECTION 4. That the whole number of votes cast in sa.iEl Oi ty (except absent Toter ballots) was 939. That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast iR said. City was 22 making a total of 961 votes cast in said. City. SECTION 5. That the names of persons voted. for at said election ~or Member of the City COUJ1cil of said City are as follows: Thomas O. Bartlett Hilbert H. Stewart Ke1U'1eth R. Abbott Frank E. Anderson Ray E. Hull Ed Neff That the measure voted upOD at said electioli is as follows: Shall each member of the C1 ty Council o~ the City of Elsinore reeei ve a monthly compensation of $50.00 for his services? The City Council does declare and determine that: Thomas C. Bartlett was elected as Member of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years: Hilbert H. Stewart was elected as :Member of the City Council of said City for the f\1ll term of four years: That as a result of said election, a majority of the qualified voters voting on said measure relating to the compensation of councilmen did vote in favor thereof" and that said proposition was carried, and shall be deemed ado:pted and ratified. SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election, showing: (1) The whole number of votes cast in. the city; (2) The names of the persons voted for; (3) The measures voted upon; (4) 1i'or what office each person was voted for; (5) The number of votes given at each precinct to each person, and for and against each measure. (6) The number of votes given in the city to each person, and for and against each measure. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and" upon compliance by the persons elected with the provisions of Sectio:n 11565 and Section 11568 of the Elections Colie of the State of California, shall deliver to each of such persons so elected a certificate of electioll signed by her and duly authenticated; that she shall also administer to each person elected" the oath of effice prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of California and shall kave them subscribe thereto and file the same in h.er office . Whereupon, each and all of said persons so elected shall be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected. SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify" to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolu.tions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof ill the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
