RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELSINORE TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNHABITED TERRI- TORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "ANNEXATION NO.6, LAGUNA", AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXA TION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELSINORE: 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Un- inhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City of Elsinore, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Elsinore all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Riverside, State of California, hereby designated as "Annexation No.6, Laguna" and described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the Northeasterly prolongation of the Northwesterly line of Chaney Street & the Northeasterly line of Rancho La Laguna, as shown by map showing subdivisions in Elsinore, on file in Book 8, Page 377 of Maps, Records of San Diego County, California, sd. point also being an angle point in present city limits of the City of Elsinore; Thence Northwesterly along sd. Rancho line to Station No.7, as shown by sd. map; Thence Southwesterly along sd. Rancho line to the intersection of sd. Rancho line with the Northwesterly prolongation of the Southwesterly line'fof, Lot 1 Block "A"; Thence Southeasterly along sd. Northwesterly prolongation, and along the Southwesterly line of Lots 1 thru 5 sd. Block "A" inclusive, and along the Southeasterly prolongation of sd. South- westerly line of Lot 5, to the intersection of sd. prolonged line with the centerline of Riverside Street, as shown by sd. map; Thence Southwesterly along sd. centerline, to the intersection of sd. centerline with the Northwesterlx r.rolongation of the Southwesterly line of Lot 7, sd. Block 'A';, Thence Southeasterly along sd. Northwesterly prolongation and along the Southwesterly line of sd. Lot 7, to the Southeasterly corner thereof, sd. southeasterly corner being common to the South- westerly corner of Lot 4, as shown by Map of Lots 8 and 9 Block A, Elsinore, on file in Book 4, page 241 of Maps, Records of San Diego County, California. Thence Southeasterly along the Southwesterly line of sd. Lot 4, to a point thereon, sd. point being the Northwesterly corner of that certain Parcel of land, annexed to the City of Elsinore, February 11, 1952, by Ordinance No. 338; Thence Northeasterly, Southeasterly, and Northeasterly along sd. City Limits line, to the point of beginning. -1- 2. That the Council of the City of Elsinore desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Elsinore for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Elsinore, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of the city and the proper development and regulation of the territory proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and contribute tb!.the proper and orderly development both within the city and within the territory proposed to be annexed and in a manner most condusive to the welfare of said city and said uninhabited territory. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Riverside County, California, did in session duly assembled on the (! day of May, 1963, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Annexation No.6, Laguna," as above described and as submitted to said Commission by the Council of the City of Elsinore. 4. That June 24, 1963, at 7:30 P.M.' in the council chambers in the City Hall in the City of Elsinore, County of Riverside, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Elsinore, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of Elsinore and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be~ annexed to said City of Elsinore. Such ptotests mush be in writing and may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the description and area of such property, in general terms. 5. The City Clerk of the City of Elsinore is hereby author- ized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in Elsinore Valley Sun, a newspaper of general circulation published in said -2- City of Elsinore, the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the Riverside Enterprise, a news- paper of general circulation published outside the City of Elsinore, but in the County of Riverside, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Elsinore, said publication to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. 6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each per- son to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last analyzed County Assessment Roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated at the addresses shown on said Assessment Roll or known to the clerk and to any per- son who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the City Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 7. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by the County, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the County, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 8. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be annexed, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a County Fire Protection District, the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such proposed annexation. -3- 9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
