A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNGIL OF

CITY Or^ LAKE ELSINORE, CALZFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS,'qn or-about the 14th day of .7une, 1971,,the
I City of Lake Elsinore, California, did adopt Ordinance No, 498,
~ providzng for the granting of franchises far"cable television °
and antenna television systems and providing<for the operation
of same and fees therefoxe; and
I WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elsinore, California,,,did
receive an application from Cab:1e-Meter Systems of Ca1., Inc.,
and did agree to be bound by the.provisions of Ordinance No. 498
in the,event that a'franchise was granted by said`City to said '
cahle tv company; and
~ ~ WHEREAS, the said City did grant a£ranchise to Cable-
~
Meter Systems of Ga1., Inc,, for a period of 25;years upon the terms
and conditions as set forth in Ordinance No. 498; and
WHEREAS the City has r~ceived from Cabie-Meter Systems
of Cal,, Inc., a request'that said franchise be transferred to
~ King Video, Inc., of Seattle, FJashington; and
~
, ~rJI~REAS, Ordinance No. 498 at Section 6 Ge provides
! that a franchise cannot be sold, transferred, Ieased, assigned "
~ or disposed of in rahole or in p~rt without the prior consent of
tfie Council,after public hearing, expressed by x esolution and
, then under such coz~ditions as it may prescribe.

set on Ju1y 22, 1974, at 7:30 p.m. in the Qounci.2 Chamber of tfie
Citq of Ldke Elsino.re, California, for the purpose of considering
-s~id application for txansfer from Cab1e-Meter Systems of Cai,,
Inc., to King Vi_deo, Inc., et which time ~here sha11 be submitted

of said transferree, At said hearing the present franckise holder

! sha11 submit to the City Manager any and a11 data that he maq
~ require so that the said City Manager of said City can evalvate

; wheth~r or not the present franchise holdex`has cornplied with aZ1

i terms and conditions o£ the present franchise, together iaith a`
determination of whether any and a11 fees have been paid as required
!
~ by said Ordinance No. 498 of said City.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at said hearing as above.
set forth the President or. managing head of said franchise holder,
i as wsll as the proposed transferree of said franchise, sha12 be
i p?~esent so that any and a11 questions pertaining to;.thQ financial
stability of the proposed transferrae may be testified to as well
as tha experience of the said f~~nsferree in said cable tslevisioa
j
' business as well as any other pertinent material or information
helpful to`the Mayor and City Council in znaking the said determination
as to wheth~r or not a- transfer shovld be approved.
