RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAKE ELSINORE AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO
PUBLI~H NOTICE INVITING SEALED BIDS FOR CONTRACT
FOR WEED ABATEMENT
~- WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore declared certain
weeds, rubbish, refuse and dirt to be a public nuisance and ordered
said nuisances abated; and .
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Public Works has been dir-
ected to remove said weeds, rubbish, refuse and dirt not removed by
the owner o£ the affected premises; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid work can best be performed through
independent contractors.
NOW THEREFOP.E, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is
hereby authorized and directed to solicit sealed bids for the removal
of weeds, rubbish, refuse and dirt on those premises designated by the
Superintendent of Public Works.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the aforesaid sealed bids shall
be received not later than 11:00 A.M.,~}P~,41~G1~'~~ in the o£fice o£
the City Clerk, and shall be publicly opened at said time in the Chambers
of the City Council.
~ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notices inviting bids shall be
published in the Lake Elsinore Sun on

NOTIGE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE FURNISHING OF
ALL LABOR AND EQUIPMENT TO CUT AND REMOVE ALL WEEDS
UPON ALL LOTS, PARCELS AND AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF
LAKE ELSINORE AS DIRECTED BY THE SUPERINTENDENT OF
PUBLIC WORKS.
f NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by

l the City of Lake Elsinore at the Office of the City CTerk up to
the hour of 11:00 A.M. on the day of , 19 , and will be
opened on said date at the hour of 11:00 A.M. in public, in the City
Gouncil Chamber in the City Hall, in the.City of Lake Elisnore, State
: oi California, by the City Clerk and The Superintendent of Public Works,
for iurnishing the following:
i A11 labor and equipment to cut and remove all weeds, rubbish,
! refuse and dirt upon a11 lots, parcels and areas within the
~ City of Lake Elsinore as directed by the Superintendent of
~ Public Works
,and'shall be tabulated by the Superintendent of Public Works and the
r2sult thereof reported to the City Council at its next regular or
adj~arned regular meecing for action theron by said City Council.
Eac~ bid shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the Office
of t~~ City Clerk or tne Superintendent of Public Works of the City o£
~axA Eisinore and shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's
cn2cic payable to th~ C?ty of Lake Elsinore, and shall be sealed
an_d delivered to tne City Clerk at the City Hall of the City of Lake
F.lsinoze beiore 11:00 A.M. on the day of 19 , at which
Lime sealed proposals will be opened in public by the City Clerk and
the Superint2~?den~ o= Public Works. Sealed proposals shall be submitted
in sealed enve_oa~s and marked in the upper left hand corner "Sealed

r~iuse and ci_t" t~gether with the name and address of the bidder. The

bi:dder wil? e___~_ -n~o a contract, if awarded to him, and will be de-
clared for=a-_:_u -' the success£ul bidder refuses to enter into said
eontract a~~~r ~e~~?g requested to do so by the City of Lake Elsinore.
Such contrac~ s__a?i be entered into within fift~en (15) days after re-
ceipt by sa_:3 ~.,_~ractor of notice of the awarding of the contract, unless
sucn time is =__.-_~ad by the City of Lake Elsinore.

by rthe City Attorney as to form and sufziciency before acceptance.
The successful bidder will oe required to continuously maintain
adequate protection of all his work and adjacent property from damage
existing out of the performance of the contract and to furnish the City
with public liability insurance in an amount not less than $100,000.00
"for injuries including accidentai death of any one person, $300,000.00
on account oi any one accident, and property damage insurance in an
amount not less than $SO,OOO.OO, and public liability insurance to cover
vehicles ased by him whether on or of£ the premises in an amount of

~~ $5;0,000.00 for injuries to any one person or $100,000.00 for any one
accide~t, and property damage in an amount of $10,000.00. Compensation
~ and employer's liability insurance shall be maintained during the life
~ of the contract covering all employees on the project. The contractor
~ shall be responsible that all employees of subcontractors are protected
~ by such insurance. Such insurance shall be furnished by companies satis-
~ factory to the City and subject to the approval of the City Attorney as
t to form and sufficiency.

+ Each bid shall be accompanied by a Non-collusion Affidavit, copies-=-

of which may be obtained from the,City Clerk.
The successful bidd~r or bidders shall be required to enter into
a contract with the City oi Lake Elsinore in the manner and form
approved by the City Attorney of the City of Lake Elsinore.
~ The City Council reserves the right to reject any and a11 bids or
~ to waive any informality to the extent permitted by law, and reserves
; the furtner right to ma~e an award to lowest responsible bidder found
~ and determined to serve the best interest of the City of Lake Elsinore.
