RESOLUTION NO. 78~=11~- ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LF~KE ELSINORE~ CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT . OF TAE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HSLD IN SAID CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE ON THE 7th DAY OF MARCH, 1978, DECLARING THE RESULT TH~REOF AND SUCH OTHER 1 . MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. `z WHEREAS, a regular general municipal election was held and conducted in 3 the City of Lake Elsinore, County of Riverside, State of California, on 4 Tuesday, the 7th day of March, 1978, as req_uired by law; and 5 WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, s form and manner as provided by law: that voting precincts were properly ~ 7 established; that election officers were-anpointed and that in all respects $ said election was he13 and conducted~and the votes cast thereat, received and 9 canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as 10 required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for 11 the holding of elections in cities; and 7-2 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 77-57 adopted the 28th day of , 13 November, 1977, the City Clerk of the City of Lake Elsinore canvassed the retur~. ~-4 of said election and has certified the results to this City Council, said 1~ results are received, attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A." 16 Now, TH~REFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE, CAS,IFORNIA, 17 DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: ~-$~ ~.SECTION 1. That there were four voting pzecincts established for the 19 purposed of holding said election consisting of consolidations of the regular 20 election precincts in the City of Lake Elsin~re as established for the holding 21 of state and county elections. 22 SECTION 2. That said regular general municioal election was held for the 23 urpose of electing the following officers of said City as required by the laws 24 relating to cities in the State of California, to wit: 25 Two Members of the City Council of said City 26 for the full term of four years. 27 SECTION 4. That the whole number of votes castr in said City (except absent 28 oter ballots) was 1,236. ~ 29 That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City was 72, 30 aking a total of 1,308 votes cast in said City. 3~' SECTION 5. That the names of persons voted for at said election for 32 Member of the City Council of said City are as follows: -1- __ ~. EUGENE J. CARTER ~ `Z JERRY FI. STEWART ~ 3 F~nx L. BALDWIN S ELLA "SAM" GUD~LJ s That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes 7 given in the City to each of such persons above named for the respective ~ $ offices for which said persons were candidates were as listed in Exhibit "A - 9 attached. ~-~ SECTION 6. The City Council does declare and determine that: ~~ 11 JERRY H. STEWART was elected as Member of the City Council of said City 12 for the full term of four years. -~~ 13 ALLEN P. BALDWIN was elected as Member of the City Council of saicl City 14 for the £ull term of four years. . ~5 SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council ~ 16. of said City, a statement of the result of said election showing: ~~. 7-7 (1) The whole number of votes cast in the city; ~~ 1$ (2) The names of the persons voted for; . 19 (3) For what office each person was voted for; ~ 20 (4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each person; 27- (5) The number of votes given in the city to each person. 22 SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to 23 each of such persons so elected a Certificate of_ Blection signed by the City Z4 Clerk and duly authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to ~~ 25 each person elected, the Oath of Office prescribed in the State Constitution of ~ 26 the State of California and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the 27 same in the office of the City Clerk. Whereupon, each and all of said persons ~~~~ 28 so elected shall be inducted into the respective office to which they have been ~ 2~ elected. 30 SECTION 9.
