A RESOLUTION OP THE CITY OF LA:LE ELSINORE,
CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING AVA FUNDING LEGISLATION.
iVFIF.REAS, there is a continuing need to abate, abandonded and
dilapidated motor vehicles within the City of Lake Elsinore, snd
WFiEREA5, in the past years the State of California has recognized the
need for local subsidy in order to assure a state wide Abandonded Vehicle
Abatement Program and has, as a matter of law and program policy, reimbursed
City and County Governments, who conduct abatement programs and
49HEREAS, additional legislation~is necessary to continue this worth-
wh~ile program, and
WfiFREAS, such legislation is now pending in the form of Senate Bill
#1521 being carried by Senator U7illiam R. Campbell, on behalf of the
California Highway Patrol and if passed will appropriate $8,000,000 from
the Motor Vehicle Account in the State Transportation Fund for use in
FY 77-78, which is money already collected for such purposes.
NO~A, THEREFORE, BE IT kESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Lake Elsinore, strongly endorse SB 1521 and call upon all
members of the Senate for their support of this action and all the members
of the Assemblv for their support of the same action when appropriate in the
Assembly Chamber~.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Lake Elsinore, this 13th day of March 1978.
