A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE
ELSINORE, CALIFORNIA, PROCLAIMING SUPPORT OF THE
SELECTIVE SERVICE SYSTEM.

WHEREAS, Presidential Proclamation No. 4771, issued July 2,
1980, mandates resumption of peace time registration for the Selective
I
Service System and recognizes that peace time registration contributes
to national readiness by reducing the time required for a full defense
~ mobilization; and
' WHEREAS, men representing more than 98 percent of the potential
registrants have voluntarily complied with their legal obligation to
register with the Selective Service System and, by so registering, have
I nced the United States national defense preparedness.

~~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
' of Lake Elsinore hereby urges all young men, upon reaching the eighteenth
anniversary of their birth to demonstrate pride in our Country and community
' and a belief in our rights and freedoms by registering with the Selective
Service System as required by law.
