The meeting-was called to order at the.. hour of 9 a.m, with tdayor A. G.: Keck ,in the chair: ` Councilmen L. B. Taylor, A. G. KecY, and J. H. Bell answered the roll call. lab sent:: Councilman ~'. I~finutes of the. previous meetings held on Sept .,14th and. 28th. were :-then read by tln clerk; and ,on motion. duly made and carried, mere approved as read: The Building Superintendent's report for the month of Septcm ber was then presented to tlz Council azxt on motion duly made and carried, was ap- proyed.and ordered filed. ,; ~ communication-to Council from 9hief of Police Easton recommending the appointment of Ivlack Fugate as night patrolman was then read by thz clerk. tirhersupon, it, was moved Uy Councilman..Taylor and seconded by Coun- cilman Bell that IvIack Fugate be ,appointed to tYe position of Night Patrplma.n .which motion was carried :by tk~e follovuing vot e: Ayes: Councilmen Taylor, Keck and Bell. o-bsent: Councilmen Graham and Everett. The application of 1>ri. Harmon, Water Super intendant .requesting of Council that he be granted a tt~o weeks', vacation vras again presented to Council by the Clerk. Whereupon on motion duly made and carried, it:*r~as ordered tYE.t Ivi. Harmon be granted a two weeks' vacation from Oct. 6th to ,Oct. 20th.' The written resignation of Councilman ['J. L. Everett filed frith the City.Clerk;was then presented t~ Counci: . Whereupon it was moved by Councilmel Taylor and seconded by Councilman Bell that the re gnaton of W:: L.-Everett,. be accepted and-as rceuested, that`. it :be effectve,at once, vrhich,motion upon vcte:yvas carried, ~ The City Engineer's report on he proposed L:cGill sewer connection on Graham we. was then presented to Councd:l and upon consideration of the matter it was duly moved and carried that the suggested change of enlarging the 43 feet cf line under the paveme~ from a 4 inch to a 6 ind.line beconsidered further, a.nd that the c1srY, be instructed to interview',,,Ir. ;.Iorton and ascer- fain if he is +xilling to bear hispro~ortion of the cost. The City Engineer then presented for Coun~ 1's consideration, a map of the proposed Lake Shore Drive Sewer District. Whereupon after due consideration of the,said proposed sewer district it was moved by Councilman Taylor and seconded by Councilmal Bell that the map be referred bads to the engineer with instructions that if feasible, the district be e~t~nded to Spring Street and a further report on same ha be sub- raitted to Council, which~a~~~m~s motion upon vote was carried. Whereupon, it was moved by Councilman Taylor and-seconded. by Councilman Bell that the matter of repairing of Fottery Street intersections be referred to the :City Engineer vrith authorization to have the necessary work done which moticn vaas'carried by the:follovaing::vote: Ayes: Councilman Taylor, Keck and Bell, Absent: Councilman Graham: - Councilman Taylor then reported that but one block on Pottery:. Street now remained unpaved West of P4ain Street, and siYggested that Council consider'includng this block between Idain aad Spring Street in the nevaly • -proposed improvement district. - Plhereupon; it was moved by"Councilman Taylor ard- secornded by Councilman Bell that ~ petition for`this improvement be::prepar'ed and. if signed by h. 4Y. Stewar-t,'that it be included in the proceedings for`, the Heald, A4aih, Sumner and other streets, vaork, which motion carried by the following vQ-te: Ayes: Councilmen Taylor, Keck and Bell. Noes: None. r , Absent:- Councilman P..-0: Graham: The chair then appointed Councilmen Taylor and Eell to serve upon the Auditing Comdttee: Bills as audited by the Auditing Committee were then presented to Council, and upon motion duly made and on e:a1l' vote, harried, were ordered paid and the clerk wa.s•nstructed to issue warrants in payment J of same. Thereupon,'there being no further business 'to come before the Couneil~on motion duly made and carried, Council adjourned to meet` in regular session on Wednesday October 12th at the hour of g a.m; `-in the City Hall, the usual meeting place.
