A regular 'meeting of the Board of Trustees of the`City of Elsinore
was held on -the above date. The'meetng was caL'ed o-order at t$e hour of
9 a.m, with^President A, G. Keck in the chair,
Trustees L. `B. Taylor; A. G: Keck, J. H. Bell and.W. L. Everett
answered the roll call. ,
P_bsent: Trustee P. G'. Graham.
Minutes of the previous-meeting of the Boardnot being prepared were
passed',foT reading to the 'next regular meeting-of the Board.
.Under the head of commizncaticns, the C lerk presented to the
Board a written complaint fronrH: Heppe^calling attention to, certain infract=
ions of Ordinances relating to securing .of fire pernits ahd'burning of rubbish.
Iipon consideration of the matter, it was ordered by motion of
Trustee B ell and a seccnd by 7Y~ustee Taylor that the -0lerk:be instructed to
prepare Ordinances amending certain sections oY Ordinances ;~1~1 and {rl'j2, dele-
gating>the proper authority for enforcement of said.Ordinanees to the Chief of
Police instead of the Fire Chief,,.,...

P. communication .from A.'R. Anderson'to therBoard of` Trustees ask-
uig that the Board give consideration to the rernaming of Railroad Avenue to-
some other suitable name 4,as then pfesented to the Board.
Upon consideration it was duly moved and carried thatstha matter
suggested by PIIr; Anderson'be held in abeyance fora-time, so that. other possible
changes in the names of streets could be eonsidered'at the same time.
The chair then. reported to the B oard that a number of complaints
had been filed because of _standing'water in the Temescal Ditch and suggested
that some action should be taken-to remedy the condition.
Whereupon, it c~as moved by Trustee Taylor and seconded by Trustee
Be11 that the chair appoint a committee to see Fire Chief Boyle and if :possible
to arrange for the use of Fire Engine pump to drain ditch.
Upon vote motion carried. The chair appointed Trustees Taylor
and Everett to serve upon Co¢unittee.
C. J. Kalina, Clerk of the Water Department then submitted to
the Board his written application for an increase in salary. Upon considera-
tion of the matter it was the consensus cf opinion that due to the increase
in business in the Water De„artment, it was justified to grant to the Clerk a
reasonable increase in salary..
lxJhereupon, it was moved by Trustee L. B. Taylor and seconded by
Trustee W. L. Everett that C. J, Kalina, C1erY, of the Plater D epartruent be
granted an increase of salary from ~40.OO p®r month to75,00 per month, which ,
motion was carried Uy the folloti4ing vote:
Ayes: Trustees L. B. Taylor, A. G. Keck, J. H. Bell
and W. L. Everett. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee P. C. Graham.

Trustee Everett then reported to the Board that he had taken
up the matter of; alary with City .lttorney Best and ghat it eras agree-
able under present conditions that his salary. be reduced.:
V9hereupon, it was moved.:by Trustee Everett aid Beeonded by -
Trustee Taylor that the salary of City Attorney Eugene Best bo re-
duced from ~§O.OO per moxith.to.~25:.OQ per month, wizich.rrotion"upon vote
was unanimously carried. ._
Trustee Everett then reported that he had been requested by boys
of tP,e High,SChool base ball team to'present for-them. their application
for permit to close one block .of Heald~Avenue-during the ganie on Friday.
V?hsreupon it was moved by:"Trustee Everett arnd seconded by
Trustee Taylor that the High School bays be granted a permit to close ;
lone block of Heald Ave:,iduring he ball game on",Friday.
Upon."vote motion carried.
In the°absenceof Trustee Graham, the chair appointed Trustee
Taylor to serve upon the Auditing Committee,.
Bills as audited by the Auditing Committee were then presented
to the Board and on moticn duly made and on call vote carried, were or-
dered paid and the clerk'was.instructed.to.issue.vrarrants ;in payment of
same. -
Thereupon, there being no further business to come before the
Board, on motion duly made-and-carried, the Board adjourned to meet in
regular session on Wednesdayyiay 4th, et i;he hour of 9 a.m.,in ahe
City Hall, the usual meeting place.
