A regular meeting of the City Council of the Cit}r of Elsinore was .:held on the above date. Tire meeting vras called to order at the ,hour of 7 p, m. with 1•r?ayor Keck in the chair. Councilmen H. Gallagher, Fi. 0. Langstaff, L. A. F. Awes and A. G. Kec]c ans~:;ered the roll ca11. - Absent: Councilman.Ai?. H. wesner. :,?inutes of the precious muting of the Council held on July 23rd were ther_ read by the Clerk and or. mot; on duly raado-and carried vaere approved as read. Councilma:n,rNssner absent upon ro11 call then appE:ared and took his chair. The Clerk when presented to Council a copy of Arsvrer filed tivith the Industrial Accidents Copunissicr! in the case of ;::rs. A%:ack Fugo-te vs State Ins.. Fund and City i?~lsinore. ~r?hereupon on motion duly. made and carried it vas ordered that i~ said copy of Answer b:; placed cn file. The Clerk .then presented to Council the v~ritten resgnation of City Treasurer Belle ='alY,er with r~.gy;est that. it be accepted to take, effect at once. . whereupon it :was moved b;: Ccuncilman Gallagher and socondr-,d by Ccuncilman `'esner that the resignation of Belle =;7alker City treasurer . be accepted with r^grets,_which motion upon vote was unanimously carried. '.~'hersupon it ^~as moved by councilman Gallagher and sacorded by Councilman Langstaff that the appointme-rt of a City Treasurer to fill existing vacancy bo laid over for consideration to the next. meeting. of the Councilvahich motion upon ro11 call rues unanimously carried. The City Engineer then.present~d for reading to Council a cornrrunication received ,from rthe Electrical Engineering Dept. of the So. Sierras Power Go, recosmending the installa-cion of certain float switc'ri devises at the City 4:~ater ..plant with the viecr of reducing povs~er costs. L:hereupon it tree. duly-moved and carried that the matter be taker_unner advisement and:.laid over for furt:~er consideration, Councils attention v;as then called to the cracked condition of the high water reservoir aril after some dSsct: lion on the matter it vras moved by Councilman Gallagher that 1:1. Donald property stating-that the leak vras or- tiered repaired at once but vras delayed on account of certain Harts that had to be ordered and appealed to Council to reconsider their action at previous meeting recindin~ f.'ormer action granting the free use of v:•ater for 'this :property. nhereupon after some discussion on tkie matter it was mcvad by Coun- cilrran Langstaff and seccnded. by Ccuncilman 'tlesner that the Clerk be instructed td commt:nicate vait',~ Pars. Brimhall City Healilz CfEicer then addressed Council re- porting on his work in connection with Healt'ri and sanitation matters and issued anc~rder that Coitncil'tal-ae acticn to provide public rest roo,:s along the ` Lal:e shore for use cf cam_ pc-rs and that tize• pro*~=rt?r ir_ said district be cleared of brush or that it be pcsted prohibiting campi~zg along the 1a';e shore. SiANOARO FORM G36 ~ - The Chair appointed Councilman Langstaff, ?ices, and Gallagher to serve on said committee. Thereupon after some discussion regarding the matter of disposing of the °olice Car it was moved by Councilman Langstaff and seconded by Councilman IFaes ti:at it be authorized that Council- man Gallagher take the police car crhere he =roishe,d for the purpose of chocking its condition which motion upon roll. call eras unanimously carried. - ^1 hevlerk then reported to Council that bcnr,s to cover tho unpaid asses stn=.n•ts for the improvement of Plain and other strets would have to be issued. to the Gatzert Bcn Co. anon their filing of the unpaid list and that it vrould be up to the Council. to arr^nge for having this work done. '+lhereupcn it eras moved by Councilman Langstaff and seconded by Councilman luiaes that the pr_-partition of Bonds ens? Bond register covering the unpaid assessments for the improvement of mair and other straets be referred to the .Clerk and that he be authorized to engage help for this work, :which motion c+as carried by the following vote: Ayes: Cct:ncilmsn GTallagher, L'taes, r'esner, Langstaff, and Beck. Noes: None. Absent: None. Council then again tools un for consideratior_ the appoint- ment of a city treasures' at this time tc fill the e.=,isting vacancy and upon reconsideration of provious motion tc lay over appointment of Treasurer to next meoting. It was moved by Councilman Gallagher and so cn-dcd by Council- man Langstaff that previous riot ion to ].ay over appointment cf Treas- urer be voided and that appointment of Treasurer be mars at this tirio which motion upon roll call eras unanimously carried. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Langstaff and. seconded by Councilman n"ties that :rthur Gustafson be appointed City Treasurer to fill the s,:isting vacancy caused by the resignation of Treasurer Belle vfalker, se id appointment to be for the period up to the next regular city election vrhich motion boas-carried by the folio=:;ing vote: P-.yes: Councilmen Gallagher, R4aes, ;'iesner, Langstaff , and heck. Noes: None. ?absent: idone. Bi11s as audited by the auditing cornrittee srere then pre~5 sented to Ccuncil and on met ion duly made and on seal vote carried wero orderer paid a.nd the C1erY, r.~as instructed to issue warrants in payment of same. Thereupon there being no further business co come before Council on motion duly made and carried Council adjourned tc rmset in regular session on [,ionday, Aug. $th at the hour of ~ p. m. in the.
