~II A regultax.meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore
c:as held on the above date. ^1he meeting was called to order at the hour
of q p. m, with T:iayor !~. G. Keck: in the o'sair.
Councilmen Fi. Gallagher, YaI. H. ',:+esner, H. C. Langstaff ,
L. A. F. P.naes and A. G. Keck-ans~7ered the roll call.

I;iinutes of the previous meeting held on Jul, 16th were then
read by the Cleric and on motion duly made and carried were approved
as read,,
The Clerk ttren presented to Council's. convm:;nication from State
Insurance .Fund giving notice of the fi-ling of Comrlaint by l`rs. '.:Tack
Fugate witr? t'c,a Industrial Accidant Commission regarding to her claim
under policy carried by the Ci.t~ coveringthe accidental death of idack
Fugate,' her husband IJhile on duty.and in the employ of the City and
advising that no action need be taken by the City in the matter.
`7hereupon it was duly mev~d and carried. i;hat the com:^urica-
ticn be received and ordered fi'_ed.
Sn the absence of the City Treasurer the Clerk presented to
Council a financial report shot^ring the balances in the varicus funds
and the total sum on deposit in tr,e baazk and available in the City
^lreasury as of date July 23rd.
?hereupon it v^as duly moved and car:^ied that-the report be
accepted and ordered filed.
The. Clerk then: presented for adep'cion, plans for the improve-
ment of Sumner Ave, and other streets designated as foilews:
SheetT L Covering a portion of Sumner Ave.
Sheet ;~'t2 Covering a portion of Eeald Ave.
Sheet r7~ Covering a portion of Peck St.
Sheet ~f4 Covering detail of bridges.

It was thereupon moved by Councilman Paaes and seconded by
Councilman Langstaff that the Said plans .profiles, asssssment+:map
,and apefications be adopted,-vrhich motiom cas thereupon carried by the
following vote:
Ayes. Councilmen Gallagher, 1=iesi2er, La=;gstaff, •`aes, and
Keck.
Noes: Pio-re.
Absent: Plone.
.The City Clerk then presented for adoption a resolution of
Intention to do the i,•or% upon Sumner Ave. and other-streets said F.es-
_;olution of Intention being No. 19o covering the work described in said
plans profiles and specifications this day adopted and also certain other
work b,r specficaticns ,~ for vrater mains heretofcre filed, and by

specifications `~12 for ccnstructffion of asphaltic concrete pavement and
other matters k:eretofore filed to be assessed iaroh the districts carried. '
in said assessment map for. Sumner. Ave., Peck St. and Bridges.
It.vres thereupon moved by Cosmcilmah Langstaff and seconded by '
Councilman Gallagher that said Resolution of intention 11198 be and is
hereby adopt;d, which.motion c+as carried by the fcllota_.ng veto:

R. R. ;!lacy holding contract tvith the City ..f or the purchase of the '
City's garbage then reported to Council that he ems in need of about 1.0
extra drums in 4eiiich to place garbage anal requested that the City furnish
same.
tRlereuopn it eras moved by Councilman Macs and seconded by Counr
oilman Langstaff that Fur. }v?acy be aut'norized to purchase ten drums and
present bill for same t,C the City for. payment which motion t"+as carried
by the following vote: j

Keck.

Absent: None.
Chief of Police, R: "d. Ferrell then appeared before Council ,
submitting his propcsiticn to furnish his onm car and .all upkeep on same
for use in the Police Dept. for and in consideration cf a. a2„ 00 par
month increase i.n his salary.

Conncilman Langstaff that, the matter be taken under advisement and that
Chief Ferrells offer be laid on the table-for further aonsideraticn.vrhieh

,. The Clerk thereupon presented to Council the written resignation
of Glenn Graham, City ngineer stating that l:e c+i shed. to be relieved of the
.meek, but offered if Council desired, to'continue t.~ith the fiork until such
time as Council made other arrwngements to fill. his place.

cilman Ilesner that the resignation of City Engineer.Glenn Graham be laid
on the table for further consideration tmh.ch motion wren vote rtes parried.
The .annual report of th® Library Board for .the fiscal year ending
- June jOth rues then presented to Council, Showing the receipt and Disbursements
for the part year and submitting a. prepared:budget for the ensuing year.
Attention eras also called to the expiration of the present Boards
these year tern. or, June 30th, 1928.

clma.n 7esner that the report of the Library Board be approved and accepted
Nand.-that the following members of the present Board,rC. S: Iierrifield,
R. _H, .Kirkpatrick, L. Fd, Bentley-and Fau1 Kurnzle be appointed to succeed
themselves-on the Board and that G, R, Gough be appointed as the fifth mem-
bee, said Board to serve for a term of three years-from-.Juno 30th, 1928

Thereupon Councilman Gallagher rer~orted that i~ has come
to his notice that Prater was being wasted at the property of R?rs.
3.?ac Donald which was be-ing furnished. gratis by action of former
Council, and e._pressed himself as not favoring the furt~er con-
tinuance of furnishing free water for said property.
^hereupon it was moved by Councilman Gallagher and sec-
onded by Councilman Langstaff that the action of former Ccuncil
granting the free use of water for triangle plot of ground oppo-
site the High School , now o~raed by L4rs. t?c Donald, be recinded,
vahich motion v*as carried.by'the fcl?.oraing vote:
Ayes: Councilman Gallagher, Langstaff, `~esner,
Pv?aes and Deck.

Absent: idore.
Bills as audited by the auditing co*n.=ai.ttee a+~err: thsn
presented to Council and on motion duly made and on call vote
carried were ordered paid and the Cleric was instructed to issue
±sarrants in payment of same.
Thereupon there being no further bus?_ness to comp beforo
the Council on motion cult' made and carried Council adjourned to
meet in rogular session on P?onday, July 3Cth at the hour of 7 p, m.
in the City Hall,.the usual meeting place.
