was heldon the above date. The meeting`-was ealled"-to order at the hour of
7 p.m, with Mayor A. G. Keck in the chair.' - -
Councilmen H. Gallagher, H. 0. Langstaff, L. A. F. Mass,

Minutes of the previous meeting not being prepared were passed
for reading at the next regular'meeting.of the council:.
'The Building Superntendent:'s report for'the:month of Tune
was than presented to the Council, and on motion duly made andcarred; was
"' accepted and ordered fled. r
Report of the Police Department for period-:from Ag'il 21st to
duly 2nd was than presented to the Council and on motion duly made, and ea~-
rigid was aceepted and ordered filed,
A petition for the improdement of Peck Street for a distance
of 150 feet East of Chestnut Street was then presented to the Qouncl and
was ordered laid over for further consideration later in the meeting.

Whereupon, the clerk presented to the Council resolution #197
being''a resolution of the City'-Council providing fa~-the approval and con-
firmation ofWarrant; Assessment and Diagram ftr the improve~ent of .Pottery
'Plain and'other,streets'as such wort[-is particularly;deacribed.in a,Resolu-
~ tion'of-'Intention 186-`adopted'Dec: 7th, 1927; and nst:ructing,the_;Super-
intondent of Streets of the City of Elsinore, to forthwith record the same
and'make delivery thereAf to the contractor. -

'and seconded by Councilman Werner that Resolution #197

~~ Councilman" Gallagher raised objection to he Engineer's
F fee being 'figured on an `S~~baes and moved",that motion for, adoption of
~ ~ Resolution #197'`be laid 'over f"or an opinion-from the City ;Attorney., as to t1E
(; legality of Engineer's contract which was seconded by Councilman Langstaff:

' The chair rules Councilman Gallagher`s motion out of order
and called-for vote on.motion for' adoption of Resolution #197, wfaich

Whereupon, it was, moved by.Councilman Gallagher and seconded
by Councilman Langstaff that the action of Council taken on September
28th, 1927 authorizing a change in the City Engineer's contract, grant-
ing%him>an increase in fee: from:6~,to Sf:and subsequent action taken by
Council on March - 1928,,authorizing execution,of new.,contract to b e effect-
ive as of Sept. 28, 1927, be referred to the City Attorney for his opinion
as to the-legality of said actions, which mot ion, was carried bq the follow-
ing vote:<
Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Langstaff,,Maes, ~Veaner, and Keck:
Noes: None.
Absent:- None.
Council then taok up for further. consideration Petition filed
for improvement of Peck Street, 150 feet East of Chestnut Street and on
motion dulymade and carried,. it, was ordered that said petition be laid
over°for-one week:,.. `.
Councilman Maes then called to Council's attention that City
'Treasurer Be1lerWalker. had the misfortune Co meet-cith a serious accident,
? and-eves at present confined in the Community Hospital at:Riv,,erside, and
the-reupon moved hat thoclerk be instructed to send the ,:Treasurer Mrs.
Walker a letter expressing to:her .the Council's regret because-of _her
sad misfortune and theirlbest wishes f;or-her speedy recovery, which
motion was seconded by Councilman Langstaff and on roll cal l~was unani-
mously carried.
.Councilman Langstaff then brought up for Council's considera-
tom the establishment of a City Hall fund, reporting that the City
at present'was-carrying a,spacialfund of ~2§00.90., and expressed,,hiraself
as favoring the°placing',of this sum into;a City $all building fund::.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilmen Langstaff and seconded by Councilman
Maes that the ~2§00>00 now in a special fund be transferred to a fund deaig-
nated and known as a City Hall Huilding,F.und to be later used wit. added
sums-for'the construction of a City Hall., Building, which motion upon vote
'was unanimously carried.
-Bills as audited by she Auditing, Committee were then presented
to-the Council and on motion ,duly:made:and on call vote,,,-carried were
"ordered-paid and the clerk was instruetad,totissue warrants in pay ment

Thereupon, there 'being,no further business to ,come before
the'Council, on moton'duly made. and carried, Council adjourned to, meet
in regular session on Monday.Julg 9th+ at, the hour of .7,p.m, in ;the. City
Hall, the usual meeting place, -
