Wegner. idinutes of the previous meeting held on June 18th were then read ;by, the.;clerkt and on motion duly' made ;'and carried were:'approved as read. The. clerk •then presented to~the Council a communication fro-m the California Water, Res,QUrces..As'sociation, calling the'Council's: attention to Constitutional Amendment to„appear ;on the .elect ion:ballo,t,in Noy.-ember with reference,ao law ;regarding ripaz~ian wate;rrrights,. and asking Councilb endorsement of said amendment< .. Whereupon it was duly moved and carried"that said communication "iOe said om_ heaable ;peinding further-investigation of the:.matter. A communication to Council fs+om Geo.; M. Briner. reporting the Chief of Police R. W. Fearel came to his horns without having an y official ,,; business there„ to, which he obj;eeted and requested the, officer to leave :;his ,premises, which he,,refused to do, and was: now asking that ,council take -, act ion;t;a protect shim, against. the reappearance, of Chief Ferrell at;his home or that he would not be held responsible for his-:act ions: toward him, Mr. Briner being present was assured by the Council that Chief FerreiT would be instructed to stay away from his premises unless on official business: Thereupon 3. H, Gunder of the Elsinore Gas Works appeared before Council stating that Bond in the sum of X1000,00 had been, posted as p^o- vided for in Gas Franchise Ordinance #149 and that since the posting of said bond it has been kept in fm ce by the annual payment of g emium thereon, however as the original bond was evidently, mislaid and not on file at the present tuns, he was prepared and did present anew bond in the sum of $1000,00 in favor of the City of Elsinore for Cound 1`e ap- proval and acceptance. Upon a check of the City`s minute records, the posting of original bond was confirmed: Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Langstaff and seconded by Councilman ideas thot the Bond of the Elsinore Gas Works for X1000:00 just presented, be approved and accepted and ordered filed whidi motion was carried by the following vote; Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Langstaff,-Macs au) Keck, Noes: None. Absent: .Councilman M. H. Wesner. Council then took up for further consideration the laying of a new two-inch water pipe line in the alley back df Main Street, and after due consideration of said matter, it was moved by Councilmen Langstaff and seconded by Councilman Maes that M. Ha$mon, Water Super- 4 intendant be instructed to proceed to lay s new 2-inch water. pipe line in ~I the alley on ahe we at' ide of Main:Streat only, and that all services be connected with°meters, each store room to be ue`tsred separately, which motion was carried by the following vote: - ~ - r.:" .rAy,es:': Councilman H:`Gallagher H. 0.•'Langstaff, L. Whereupon it. was further moved by Gouneilman Langstaff end seconded by Councilman Maea that M, Harmon, Water Superintendent be in- r; ;atrncted to replace the pipe Inerin the-old water systari-`on Sumner Avenme between Main and•Ellia Streets: with a j-inch'1-ine.to be='.placed`?ri-the ~` parkway, which motion was carried=>by the' following vote. ~- , - ~'-' '~- '' !~ Ayes: -Councilmen Gallagher-,'Lan,~,gtaff,'Maes and 'Keck.
