A regular adjourned.•:~eting of the, City Council of the City of
Elsinore was held on the above date. The meeting was called to order at

Councilmen I{: Gallagher, H, O. Langstaff, L: A. F::Maes:and A. G.
Keck answered the roll call, Absent: None.
Minutes of the g•evious meeting held on May 9th,_were:then read
by the cherk and, on motion du2y<made and carried, we,ra;approved as, read,

Thereupon, the clerk presented to Council a;: petition~sgned by
66 ownersand managers of. rental property prote tug to the payment of the
rental .license. and asking for g, repeal: of. said ;li.cense,
Whereupon it, was moved by,,C_ounc,ilman~Ga~..lagher and .seconded by
Gounci3.man Langstaff that the petition receivedrbe ordered tabled and that th
the, clerk., be instructed to prepare a retailed;report showing al,l delinquent
accounts due the city, which motion upon vcte;was unanimously,carri ed.
Thereupon, .the matter regardi.ng;the;proposed change in the Build-
ing Contractors license submitted at the previous meeting, was again brought
;;; up for further; consideration.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Maes~and seconded„by Coun-
:ci.lman~Langataff that the chair:appointi,a:Committee from the,Council:to work
;with the;;Build,ng ContractoES;n preparng,a definite;-plan or,,propo~tion to
,- be submitted to;council,for-their approval, or reJ.ecton, which-motion upon
~;,vots was..,carried. ~-. ,. ~ "
The chair appointed Councilmen Maas and Gallagher to serve on sail
..`-said committee.,,' , ,
Councilman Maas then presented to Qouncil a comparison of quota-
tions received on pipe and supplies for the water department and it appearing
that the p$$,ces.of Crane Co.:were-the lowest,it.was therefore moved by
Councillman Langstaff and.: seconded by Councilman. bSaes the.t M.-,Harmon,._Water
Superintendent be instructed that in the future:,-he purchase allppipa;and
fittings for the-water department from the Crane Company, which motion was
rearried;by,the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmam Gallagher, Langstaff, Maes-and. Keck.
Noos: None.

Council then further considered bids'reaeyed at the predious

Vhereupon it was moved by Councilman Maes and seconded
by bo,incilman Langstaff-that the City!s' accounts and records be audited at this
- time and-that contract for th'e audit be awarded-to A. L. Mc>area Certified
Public Accountant who bid $300.00 and is the lowest bidder.
Upon-vote motion resulted as follows:" ,

City Audit, it was moved_by Conncilmari Maes'and-record ed'by Counc-ilman.
Langstaff that lost motion be reconsidered, which motion carried by the
following vote:

Thereupon Council's attention"was called to-vacancy-"existing on
Council since the 20th day of April 1928, said vacancy being caused by
` failure=of'Counclman elect; 1~d. H. Wexner failing to 'qualify as provided
for by 'section-43'J3 of-the`POltcal Code-and after due consideration-of
the matter andithe-law providing', for fil}ang of-a vacancy, it was moved
"' by Councilman Langstaff and seconded by`Counci3msn •Maes-that'll. H, Wiesner
be appointed to the position of Councilman to fill the existing vacancy,
which motion eras carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Maes, Langstaff and Keck.
Dloes: None.
Absent: ''None.

Bills as audited by the Auditing Committee were then pre-

Thereupon-therebeing no 'further business to come before the Council,
on motion duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular
adjourned session on Monday, Mays=2lst:at the hour of 7 p.m. in the City
Hall, the usual meeting place.
