M: ,Harmon, Superinten~lent._:of the .9Patax~ Department then appeared before Council and stated that since a majorit~+c:o~f•1the;Coizncilmen under whom he has been employed for the past ,four;:year's as.water Superintendent were retiring from.. the Council,. he would appreciate if his services were ~~tisfactory:,rthat Council .issue to-rhim a le ter•of recommendation: Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Taylcr that a letter of recommendation _be au$hos;ized.;ssued :to Mr.. Harmon. and: further+ fated that heawshed ao,go on record .favoring the'_issuance of"a letter cf indorsement to every appointive employer of the City, _, ,;;, ,, ,;, ,Councilman.Taylor`s-motion receiving no second was. lost. ,; _. ~ F ~ ~::; Councilman Bell of the Auditing Committee being absent;-:the=: 'chair appointed Councilman Gallagher to serve on said Committee. Bills as audited by the Auditing Gommittea were then present- ed to. the Council Sidon motion duly made and on cell vote-:carried, were ordered paid and the clerk was instructed: o: is sue Warrahts:an payment o f same . Council then took up for consideration the; matter, of- paying;:; off in full the balance on Police car contract. .. The, retiring Cpuncil-thereupon made a canvass of; the votes • cast at the Municipal election held in the City of El inorey: (blif. on the 9th day of April, 1928. Gallagher ~d seconded by L.A.F.Maes, A. ~. Keck was nominated'ae President of--th8 Council and was unan.imoualy elected to << ,: said office. .., ,; `- Council then-:took up for consideration the matter''bf changing the time of holding-Council Meetings,.! ': ,_ Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Aches and aeconded.by°- Councilman Langstaff that the'City Attorney be instructed-ta'prepare " an Ordinance-providing for a change in the-meeting.tiine of:--the Council from Wednesdays 9 a.m."to Mondays at the hour--of•'~ p.m., whirch motion carried by the following vote. '' Ayes: Councilmen Blaes,;Gallagher, Keck and'Langstaff. .'. Noes: None.. The clerk then presented to Council the writte{~ application of R. W: Ferrell-for the •position`of Chief of Police: Whereupon ,it;was duly moved andbarried,.that said application be laid over for further consideration. Mayor A. G.
