Y E _ [ • i O R Ii 1 A regular meeting of-.the City Council of the City of Elsinore wa held on ~~ i the above date. The meeting was called to order at the hour of ~ o'clock P.M. ~ with Mayor C. 'A.'Lovejoy'in the Chair. i Councilmen H. Gallagher, J. E. Mills; HI 0. Langstaff and C, A. Lovejoy ' anscaered the roll ca1L Absent: Councilmen S, M, Rice. ~I `" P.4inutes of the pre¢ious'meeting'held'on'Nov'l~th were then `read=by the I Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions were approved as read, ~ The Clerk then presented to' Council C`ity'Engineer"Graham's-final estimate and certificate of completion of the construction of the'outfa]:L seezer 'line under the ccntract-awarded to the Atlantic Constr Co. oh Sept. 2gth, 1930, and reported-that the work. was completed on the 22nd day of Nov, '1930 on which date he perscnally made a complete inspection of the entire job and found the work to be in accordance with the -plans and"specifications and therefore recommended immediate acceptance. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and_seeorded by Councilme.,-n Lano staff that the City Engineers report and'certfieate be approved and that the construction work'o$ the outfall sewer line by 'the Atlantic Const. Go. be finally accepted, which motion was carried by the following vote: - Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Langstaff, Mills and Lovejoy, Noes: None. Absent: Councilman S, M. Rice. ' Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council`s communication Yrom the City Council of the City of Beaumont with reference to the recovery from the County, of certain delinquent rax penalties and interest, illegally withheld by the Ccunty. Whereupon it was duly-moved and carried that the communication be received and that the Clerk be instructed to reply to same, A petition was then presented to Council,. signed. by a :number of citizens expressing their belief that it would be a compliment to Mrs. Mary J, L, Me Donald, to rename Riley St. to P~eDonald st. in appreciation"of her many gifts end kindnessess tc the City of ='lsinore, and sir ing that they. would favor Council passing an Ordinance to this offect. Whereupon after Councils due consideration of the matter it was moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman P,~ills that it be ordered to pre- pare an Ordinance to provide for changing the namo of Riley St. to McDonald St. which motion upon vote was unanimously carried. The Chair than brought up for Councils consideration the matter of enforcing the collection of delinquent business and rental licenses and upon due consider- ation of the matter it uses moved;3ay<.councilman P:4ills and seconded by Councilman Gallagher that the Clerk be instructed to enforce the collection of .all delin- quent business and rental licenses, which motion upon vote was carried. Thereupon after Councils consideration of the matter of allowing a discount on licenses paid on or before a certain date, it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Couneilman Langstaff that it be orflered to prepare an Ordinance to amend Ordinance 161 providing for a 20~ discount to be a11o~.Fed on all licenses Page ~, Meeting of the 24th day of-.Nov. 1930 paid on or beforo the 20th day folloeling,the first, day of eaclz_quarter, which motion v/as carried by the following,yote. Ayes: Councilman Gallagher, titills, Langstaff, and hovejoy.,. !Noes: None. A~isent: Councilman _Aieo,. , . The Chair then reported to Couneil-:that he had been solicited by the Grammar School P. T. A. for some aid from the City to hale provide food for,some destitute families in the City and requested th«t Qouncil take some action. on the matter. thereupon it cvas moved by Qouncilman Dills and seconded by Council- ;nan Gallagher that is be :authorized to donate ~5.00,.to-the Grammar School P, 4'. A. to h@lp provide food .for destitute families,.which motion ;upon vote was unanimously carried., Councilman:Rice baing absent the Chair appointed Councilman h4ills. to serve on the auditing committee. Bi11s as audited by ,the auditing committee r:ere,prssente.d to Couneil and on motion duly .made-and on call vota carried v~ere.ordered paid and the Glerk was instructed. o issue warrants in payment o£ same. Thereupon there being no furthar business to-come before.Council on motion duly mach and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session on Mfinday Dec.. 8th at the hour of '] o'clock P.1~?. in the City Hall the usual meeting place.
