A regular meeting of the Gity Council of the City cf Elsinore
was held en the above date. The melting was called to order at the hour
of'7 o'clock PM, with Mayor G. A. Lovejoy in he Chair,.
Councilmen .Hs Gallagher, H. 0. Langstaff, S. M. Rice, J.,E. Mills
and C. A. Lovejoy answered the roll call. ,
Absent: None.
Minutes of t;ae previous meeting held on Oct. 2~th were then read-
by the C1erY, and there being noccorrections or omissions were approved
as read.
The C1erY, then presented to Council the following monthly reports:.
The report of the Bldg. Supt., Police Dept., Water Dept., and the Treas-
urers monthly report.
Wher~;ttpoit itwas duly rnoved and carried that said reports be
accepted and ordered placed on file.
The Clerk then presented to Council two communications from
Willis S, Jones calling attention to and complaining of the drainage
on Pottery St, between Riley and Spring St., also to the dumping of
cans and rubbish in the Temescal ditch and respectfully requesting
Council to give these matters their attention.
PJhereupon it was duly moved and carried that said communications be
received and that the matters complained be referred to the street
committee for attention.
The Clerk then presented to Council a petition signed by j8 citi-
sens and business men of Elsinore requesting Council to give them the
added protection of a night policeman.
Whereupon e.fter Councils due consideration of the matter it was
moved by Councilman Rice;:and:secondadaly,'r,6ouneilman Langstaff that a
night policeman be appointed at e salary of ~I25.00 per month on
condition that the merchants and business men of Elsinore pay X40,00
per rponth of said salary, which motion upon vote was carried.
Ordinance 206 was then presented to Ccuncil on second reading
being an Ordinance emending Section 11 of Ordinance #201 providing that
the salary of the Building Inspector shall be fixed at the sum of X15.00
per month.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Langstaff and seconded by
Councilman Mills that Ordinance #206 be passed and adopted which motion
u~as carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Langstaff, Mills and Rice.
Noes:Councilmen Gallagher and Lovejoy.
Absent: N6ne.
Ordinance 209 was then introduced and read on 1st reading being
an Ordinance forbidding minor children under the age of 1'] yrs loitering
or strolling about the streets of Elsinore during the night time,
Whereupon it was mclued by Councilman Adills and seconded by Council-
man Langstaff that Ordinance #20'j be passed to its second reading, which
motion was carried by the following vote:

and bill filed for payment of work completed less 10~.
Bills as audited by the auditing Committee:-were then presexited to Council
and on motion duly made and on call vote carried were ordered paid and the Clerk

Thereupon there being ao further business to come before Council on mention du3rr
