A. Lovejoy in the Chair. i ~E., Councilmen H, Gallagher, J. E. D.4ills, S. Tf. F.ice a.nd C. A. Lovejoy enewered the roll call. ~ . - .Absent: Councilman H. 0. Langstaff. „ _ _ - _ I, Minutes of the previous meeting held on Sept. 8th were then re d by the Clerk ~~ and there being no corrections or omissions were appro•aed as read. I ~~ This being the time fired for the opening of sealed bids on proposals re- jG `~ ceived for the purchase of the Q~22500.00 1930 Sewer Bonds, the Clerk reported that ~ ' five bids were received and thereupon proceeded to gpen and presented to Council j the following bids received: j i Smith, Camp ~ Co. Bid par, aocrued interest to date ( of delivery, plus premium of X525.7.'] for 5~ bends. {~ G. w. I I .~ National Banketaly Co.: Bid par accrued interest to (': d I date of delivery plus a premium of x"1652.00 for 5 ~% I; bonds. i whereupon Resolution #239 was introduced and read being a Resolution of the E~ City Council ax~arding contract of the X22500.00 1930 Sewer Bond to the Pational Banketaly Co., they being the highest and best bidders. it ~ j whereupon it v/as noved by Councilman bills and seconded by Councilman Gallagher that Resolution x239 be passed and adopted which motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, kiills, Rice and Lovejoy. Pdeeting _of. the 22ndday. of .Sept, 1y30 MEETZIYG HELD OK THE DAY OF STRNDRRO FORM C9J I9 Whereuponsh was duly moved and carried that the bids received be referred to the City Engineer for checking and report back to Council the totals of said bids. - - - The Treasurers monthly report for the month of August was then presented to Council and on motion duly made and .carried was accelbted and ordered placed on file. The Glerk then presented to Council a communication from the California Health Officers Assn. urging Council to send a delegate to the Convention to be held in Long Beach -0ct. 6th to 10th in connection with the Calif. League of I+dunicipalities. Vdhereupon it was'duly moved and carried that s&id communication be received and ordered placed on file. -The Clerk-then presented'to Council'the"written opiniom of Gity"Attorney Best regarding to the claim of 1~4rs. Harworth for damages resulting from the improvement of Ellis St. adjourning her property. Whereupon it was moved by'Councilman Gallagher~,and,csec'onded by Councilman Mills that the communication be referred baelc to City Atty. Best vaith instructions that he ascertain full facts regarding to the claim of Mrs. Harworth and render an opinion based on said facts vahieh motion upon vote"was carried, 8ity Engineer Glenn Graham then reported ron the bids received for-the con- struction of additions to the present sewer"system; said report showing that At- lantic Construction Co's bid'of X16936.66 mvas the lox~est and best bid, Whereupon Resolution 240 was introduced and rea-d being a Resolution awarding the contract for the construction of additions to the present sevaer system to the Atlantic Construction Go at the prices named in their bid: Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Pdills a.nd seconded by Councilman Gallagher that Resolution 240 be pa sod and adopted which motion was carried by the following vote: ~ - - Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, ll4ills, Rice, a.nd Lovejoy, Ploese None., Absent: Councilman Langstaff. Thereupon Resolution #241 was introduced and read being a Resolution pro- viding £or the form of coupon to 'be attached to the 1830 sewer bonds. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman Gallagher that Resolution 241 be passed and adopted which motion was carrisd by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, P~4lla; Rice; and Lovejoy. - Ploes: None. Absent: Councilman Langstaff. • - Bi11s as audited by the auditing committee w..ere then presented to Council and on motion duly made axid on call vote carried xrere ordered ~~aid and the Clerk was instructed to issue warrants in payment of 'same;.` Thereupon there being no further business to come before Council on motion duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session om t~Yonday Oct. _ F 13th ir~j th^ Ci~all t~e:usual meeting place. ~ Q ~/ ~
