The meeting was ca~.led to order nt the"hour of 7 o'clock P.M, with Mayor C. A. Lovejoy in the Ghair. L ' Councilmen H. Gallagher, Ii. 0. Langstaff, J: E: Mills `and C. A. Lovejoy answered the roll call. Absent: Councilman S`, M. Rice. Minutes of the previous meeting ,held on Aug, 11th were then read by the Clerk and there being no corrections or oiaissiona were approved as read, The Clerk thon presented to Council a communication from I~,'Nappe request- ing that Council co nsider_granting him a reduption in. his city license. Whereupon after due consideration of the matter by Council `it was ordered that the:. Clerk be instructed to notify Mr. Nappe that he may regulate the amount of his license by the: number of .pool"tableshe operated. The Water Supt's monthly report was then. presented to Council and on motion duly made and carried was accepted and ordered placed on file, Resolution #238 was then introduced and read being a Resolution of the City Council Fixing the, tax levy for the fiscal"year begixiriing July 1st, 1930, pro- viding a tax levy,on each X100.00 of assessed value as ~'ollovrs:-- General Fund--------------------9C¢ - 1897 9Vater Fund--r--------------08¢ 1912 Sevaer Bond Fund------------13¢ 1924 Sewer Bond Fund------------25¢ Serial Funding Bond Fund--------08¢ Library Fund----------'-~----__---15¢ Fire Engine. ' Pdhereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and'seconded by Councilman Lang- staff that Resolution X238 be passed and adopted which motion was carried by the following voto: Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Mills, Langstaff, and Lovejoy. Noes: None. Absent: Ccuncilman 5, Pvt, Rice, Thereupon Ordinance 205 was presented to Gouncil on second red-ding being and Ordinance of the City Council providing for the issuance of seti=.er bonds fixing the amounts and time and place of payment of such Bonds authorized at a special municipal election of July 29, 1930. Whereupon it was moved by CoixnciLnan Langstaff and seconded by Councilman Gallagher that Ordinance ~20§ be passed and adopted whichmotion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Langstaff, Plfills and Lovejcy, ffioes: None. The Ghair then reported to Council that he had been solicited by the Elsinore Yacht Club for a donation from the City for the Labor Day boat races and presented the matter to Council for their consideration. ' '+~hegeupon it was moved by Councilman Langstaff and seconded by Councilman Mills that :25.00 be'do'rtated to the Elsinore Yacht Club for expenses of the Labor Day boat races, which motion rotpon vote' was ear,-ied. . Council then took up for further consideration the claim. of Mrs. Harworth for damages caused her by the Ellis St. Improvement and. it was decided to lay t-he matter over for further consideration. ' Thereupon it was moved 'by Councilman :dills and seconded by " Councilman Langstaff that the Clerk be instructed to publish the required notices inviting sealed bids of proposals'for'the pro- posed sewer improvement. and also'the sale of the X22500,00 Sewer`" Bonds which motion upon vote :aas unanimously carried. In the absence of, Councilman Rice, the Chair appointed Council- -rnan F:~i11s to serve`on the auditing committee. Bills as audited by the. auditing committee ~rere then presented to'Council end on motion duly made and on call vote carried were ordered paid and the Clerk uuas in~tracted to issue warrants in payment of same. Thereupon there being no further business to eci~c beforo Council on motion duly made and. carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session on Monday, Sept 8th at the hour of ']. o'clock P.Pd. in the City Hall the usual meeting place. `~ Clerk "~ Mayor
