A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore was held
on the above date.
The meeting was called to order a.t the hour of"~ o'clock P.M: with Mayor
C. A. Lovejoy in the chair.
-Councilmen H. Gallagher,.H. 0, L'ngstaff, S. ~I. P.ice and 'C. A. Lovejoy
answexed the roll call.
Absent: Councilman J. E,'klills. .:-
Minutes of the previous meetings .held on July 14th and July 15th were then
read by he Clerk and there .being no eorrectioris nr-omissions giere=approved as
read:.
The Chief of Police monthly report of the Police Dept. was t hen presented
to Council and on motion duly made and.carried was accepted-and ordered-placed
oh .file.
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communicatiGn from B: J, SmQth
Bldg, Contractor calling their attention and presenting for their consideration
pertain-changes^in the<City License Ordinance.
Whereupon it was duly moved and carried that the<edmmunication be received
and ordered placed on file.
Whereupon Council, considered the matter-of requesting the Sante Fe R.R. Co.
to lay a cement sidewalk along their depot property on-Graham-Ave, and it was
thereupon moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman-Rice that the
Clerk be instructed to address a letter ao ahe_Santa.Fe R.R,,Co..a.dvising them
that it is Councils request that they lay a sidewalk along their depot property
on Graham Ave. +r~sch motion upon vote was unanimously carried.
The Clerk then reported to Council that Mrs. E. Bonds had requested him to
call Councils attention that. .the sewer line on Granite St. .serving her. property
was continually being. crushed by trucks and asked that Council-take some action
to remedy the situation.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman
Gallagher that the matter be referred to plr. Harmon for in-:-estigaticn and that
he submit his report with recommendation to Council at their next meeting which
motion upon vote was carried.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman
Aice that Henry Perret be appointed to fill the vacancy existing on the Library
Board.
Upon discussion on the motion it was suggested by Councilman Langstaff that
action on same be postponed to the re xt meeting of Council as he desired to inter-
view and consider other persons for appointmsnt~
Councilman Rica thereupon withdrew his second to the motion before Council
and further action on the matter was postponed to Councils next meeting.
Councilman J. E, Pdills absent upon roll call appeared at this time and took

Council then took up for consideration the matter of transporting
Gity prisoners .
FJhereupon it was moved by Councilman Riea and seconded by Council-
. man Langstaff that it be authorized that in the future the Chief of
Police use'the City Poli.cecar f:or,transportation of;Gity prisoners
which motion upon vote tiva.s carried. ,_ ,
. .Report was then made to Council, hat their +vere a number of
complaints filed because of delay on the part. of the. So. ..Cal if. Gas:
Co. in repairing streets after tearing up.for service, connections and
after due consideration of the matter: It was moved hydCouncilman
Rdae~~rtd seconded by;:Gouneilmsn, Langstaff.. that: the Glerk be instructed
to write to the So. Calif. Gas Co. and notify them that it is-Councils
request that they repair all streets promptly and that they leave::
them in as good condition as they found them, which motion upon vote
was carried.
Bills as audited by the auditing committee were then presented
to Council and on motion duly made and on call vote carried were ordered
.paid and the Glerk was instructed to. issue, warrants in payment of same.
Thereupon theig being no further.busir_ess to come before Council
on motion duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular
'session'on Monday August 11th at-the hour of 7,o'clock Pr~M, in the
City Hall the usual meeting place.. ,
