G. Keck in the chair. Councilmen H: Gallagher, H. 0, Langstaff, G, S, Merrifield, A. S. Burnham and A. G. Keck answered the .roll call, Absent None. Minutes of the previous meeting mere passed for reading at the next regular meeting. of the Council. The -0lerk then presented to.the-Gouneil-a communication from C. G. Willis ~ Sons Snc. vuho submitted the aocaest::bid on Sewer .Project. in the matter of-Acquisition and Improvement_ District,~l advising Council that they find that they have made.an,error in figuring this v:~ork.and expressing their desire to withdrava their: bid if acceptable to Council,: with understanding .:.what noJdemand be .made far forfeiture. o.f bidders' bond. Whereupon Resolution X229 was introduced and read, being a Resolu- tion of the City Council accepting the withdrawal of the C. G. Millis Fc Sans Inc. bid on sewer project in the matter of Acquisition and Improvment District ~1. Whereupon it isas moved by Councilman Gallagher and .seconded by,Coun- cillaan Burnhazu that.Resolution-229 be passed and adopted, v.,hich motion uvas carried by the following vote:... Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher; Langstaff, Merrifield, Burnham and Keck. Noes:. None. Absent: None. Thereupon Resolution ~r230 was introduced and read being a resolution of the City Council awarding. contract to F. W. Seccombe and Pl. C. Seccombe, a co-partnership, they being the lowest, regular, responsible bidders. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Langstaff and seconded by Coun- cilman Gallagher that Resolution 230 Awarding Contract to F. F!. and W. C. Seccombe be passed and ;adopted tivhich motion nos carried by the following vote Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Langstaff, Merrifield, Burnham and Keck.. Noes: None. . Absent: None. .. ii The matter of purchasing 400 feet of 22 inch Fire Hose was then brought up for Council`s consideration., (~ E. J. Nevrbegin representative of the American Rubber Mfg. Co. of li ', Oakland, Calif. was present and submitted for Council`s consideration samples ~ 'i of fire hose and quoted a price of ~1.OO,per foot oh same, with a special ~~ it concession of a credit memo of X40.00 to apply on the purchase of 400 feet ~~ of hose. Proposals in smiting fo•supplying said. fire hose at above terms and under tyro contracts covering the purchase of 200 feet of hose each, were also submitted to Council for their acceptance and execution. i Page' ~2. Chief: Boyle suggested to Council that they delay in acting upon the matter vaith the view of securing sampmes and price quotations from other Fire Hose Companies in. competition with the proposal filed. Upon Council's due consideration of the `matter. it was moved by Councilr?~an Burnham and seconded by Councilman Gallagher that the pro- pq~sals for supplying fire hose, quoting prices and terms submitted by Mr. Plewbegin for the ;American:Aubber t4fg. Co. be accepted and that the tviayor and the Clerk be authorized' o execute two contracts vith the American :Rubber Mfg.: Co. covering .the purchase .of 200 feet of hose each, a.s per -prices and terms quoted which motion`ywas.carried by the followzing vote: .Ayes:' Councilmen Gallagher, Langstaff,, Merrifield, Burnham, and Kack. Noes: None. Absent: .None. P.?r• Burrell then appeared before Council and reported tkmt the Building Superintendent has refused to grant him a permit to repair ,. his building with corrugated iron as the work did not comply vrith the provision of the Building Ordinance, which action wou3d work undue hard- ship on him and therefore he requested of 6ouncil that he be granted per- mission to repair his budding w.2th corrugated iron. Upon Council's consideration of the matter it was moved by Coun- cilman Langstaff and seconded by Councilman Burnham that Mr. Burrell be granted permission tc repair his building v;ith eorrUgated iron, wPnich motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Counci7.men Gallagher, Langstaff, Merrifield, Burnham, and Keek. Noes: None. Absent: None. There~ipon there being no further business to come befcre the Council on motion duly made'and carried, Council adjourned to meet in regular session on Monday April 7th,•at the-hour of ~ o'clock p.m. in the City Heil, the usual meeting place. . $-
