Council of .the-City of Elsinore urns held on the above date. The meeting was called to' order at the hour of ~ o'clock p.m, erith Mayor A. G. Keck in the chair. Councilman H. Gallaghe-r, H. 0. Langstaff, C. S. Merrifield, A.. S. Burnham and A. G. Keck ,, answered the roll .call. Absent : :.None.... Minutes of the previous meeting held on March lDth were then read by the Clerk and on motion duly made and carried, were approved as read. The Clerk then presented to the Council a communication from A. H. Loyd with reference to the killing of a dog near his_home and the remains being left uncaredfor, which-matter he claimed was reported to the proper authorities for their attention and for which act he had. been subjected to corsiderable criticism by a member of City Officials, and it was his desire that these criticisms be established officially and of ..record.. 'FJheroupon it was duly moved and carried that. s aid communica- tion be roeeived and ordered placed on .file. Fire Chief Tom Boyle then appeared before the Council, report= ing that the Fire Department was in need of about 400 feet of 22 inch fir e hose and requested that the Council give tho matter their consideration. [hereupon after some discussion on the matter it was decided to lay the matter over to the next meeting of the Council, end that Fire Chief Boyle be .instructed to arrange crith a number of Fire Hose Companies to submit samples-and price quotations, for Council's consideration at said meeting, The hour of 7:30 p.m. having arrived, being the time fixed for the opening of seated bids or proposals filed in the Matter of Acquisition and Improvement District ~1, of the City of Elsinore: The Clerk reported that a number of bids had been filed and proceeded to open same .and presented the follo~fin~ bids to Council: I I - -' i' S __ Page. ~2, rvrrrzurE RECOxD of Meeting of March 24, ,1930. MEETTfiiG HELD OIY THE 6TN N0AR0 FORM C86 DAY OF T9 Vhereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield and seconded by Coun- cilman Burnham that the bids received be referred to the City Engineer for checking, and that the awarding of contract be laid over to an adjourned meet- ing of Council to be held at 7 o'clock p,m. on Monday, March 31st, +rrhich motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Langstaff, Merrifield, Burnham and Kee k. Noes: None. Absent: None. The clerk then presented to the Council the report of C. G. Gillespie, Chief of the State Bux~au of Sanitary Engineering covering a Sanitary Engin- eering Survey of the City of Elsinore 49ater and Sewer systems. filhereupon it wras duly moved and carried that the report be received and ordered placed on file. In response to Mrs. R. H. Kirkpatrick's appeal to Council for financial aid to the Elsinore Tourist Room being sponsored and managed by the Fortnightly Club . It was moved by Councilman Merrifield and seconded by Councilman Galla- gher that it be authorized that the City donated X10.00 per month for sia months to the Fortnightly Club's fund for the upkeep of the Elsinore Tourist Roorn vrhich motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Langstaff, Merrifield and Reek. Noes: Councilman A. S. Burnham. Absent: None. Bills as audited by the auditing Committee were then presented to the Council and on motion duly made and on call vote carried were ordered paid and the Clerk was instructed to issue warrants in payment of same.
