Liorton jr, i~JCinutes of the previous meeting held on -0ct..26th e.-ere' then read by .the Clerk ahd a.ttehtion was dalled to a: correction to ';e made in ahe motion by Councilman Dorton and seconded by Councilman Shaane =with reference to the n- stallation of a street light at Ellis and Pottery Sts, to include the appoint- ment of Council.rnan Gallagher to make an rove tigation of_the matter, ~r;ith author- ity to order the installation of said street 'light if'justified; 'and minutes with this correction trere approved. as read.. Cass on behalf of the teachers of thc- Elsinor=: Union High School in response to ro- ceipt of Councils Resolution 248. ?fnereupon it was ;noved by uu^ouncilman Rica and. seconded by Council- man Sheane that the Clark be instructed to ans~~rer said letters and. express Councils thanks and appreciation for :;heir earnest consideration of the matter to advise thaw an effort pJill be made to have a meeting of a conmiittee composed of 'representatives from the various civic and 6=;elfare organizations of the city, to consader and perhaps stork out soma plo.n for the adequate solution of the problem, i;hich motion upon vote v:~a.s unanimcu~ly carried. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Rico and seconded by Councilman NSorton that the Clark be instructed to forirard a letter to the various civic and c;elfare organizations of thc- Ci-t;r and advise them that Council upon further consider- ation, of the unemployment situation existing in our city have agreed that perhaps a Committee composed of representatives from the various civic and wvelfare organ- ` izations of the rity could better cmzsidar and perhaps vrork our Borne plan for the adequate solution of the problem and to request 'their cooperation in the meatar by their appointment of a represe:nta-tive of their or•ganizatian to serve on this Cormnittea, and to give notice that a meting of this committee is to be held at the Chamber of Gorjlmerce Rccm on Tuesday }Qov. 17th, at the hour of '] o'clock P.I~1. and urge that they have a representative pres.>nt at this meeting, t~;hich n:ction upon vote '!as unanimously carried. A communica~~ion from the-League of Calif, i,iunicipalities r;as then presented to Council in which they advised that the proceedings of the recent Ivionterey convention would soon b'e off 'the press and enclosing. order .blanks .for said proceedings. Prhereupon it e.as duly moved and carried that said communicaticn be received. and ordered placed on file. Thereupon it r~re.s rno~*ed by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman Skiasne that it be authorized to place an order for one (~~1.j0) copy of the proceedings ~iE the P,Qonterey convention vr'_nich motion upon •~•ote wa.s carried by a four fifths vote of council. Councilman Gallagher voting no. thereupon the Clerk presented to Ccuncil a petition filed b~ F,H, S:~rith and signed by a number of cii;izens of T~'lsinore, petitioning the City Council to act once make a preliminary survey, Frith testings to ascertain the probable cost of installation of the proposed Lakeshore Drive Sev~~.?r and after survey is made, if it is the judgement of a majority of the Council that t'_ne work can be done as a joint project along 1i,ies as suggested b,T -the Td~yor in a recent rn„eting, called for the purpose of discusein~ this v:ro-rk, thru the undersigned recjuest that the v^rork be done v-9.thout delay, ~Vnareupon after a lenghty discussion and consideration of the matter by Council it v'~as moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman PSorton ':' that the petition be received and m~der•ed placed on f ils v;hicki moticn upon ~!ote vaas unanimously carried. Thereupon Claude Callison appeared before Council stating that he ,.gas interested in purchasing the D?orth 25 fact of the old City Hall lot ?.nd if Council would cgnsider selling sa~ue that he mould be glad to suomitted tc Y;im a selling pricy on same. Council agreed to take the matter under further consideration. Councilman Sheane then reported to.Council that the drin'sing foun$a.in on laTain St in front of the Tdassey Bldg, was out of ccrmission and not v~orth re- pairing and suggestsd that it would be butter to have it removed. thereupon after consideration of the matter it was moved b;r Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman Sheane, that it he ordered 'that the drink- ing fountain on ivjain St be removed, vthich motion uaon vote «~as carried. Bills as audited by the auditing Committee infere then presented to Council and on motion duly made and on ca.11 vote unanimously carried.
