The meeting cage called to order at the hour of 7 o'cloc'.. P.M, with Idayor
C. A. Lovejoy in-the caair.
Councilmen: H, Gallagher, O,B. Sheane, S.i~. Rice, Geo, H, D:~orton Jr; and
C,A. Lovejoy answered the roll call:. ,
absent: Pdone.
Minutes of the previous meeting held on Aug, ?_4th; were read by the Clerk
and there being no corrections or omissions were approved ad raced.
The Bldg.supt's, monthly report, for the montfi of August •,~ras then presented
to Council and on rnotion duly rgac]e and carried; urge aceapted,ahd ordered pia.ced
on file.
The Clark then presented to Council a. cornr::unication from ~.2. Dutton pro-
testing to the closing of all=.y betc=~ean Dutton and Chestnu~ Sts.
;:?hereupon after Councils consideration of the matter it ~das agreed that
action on closing said alley be laid over for futher conslderat~on.
Council then took up for consideration the matter of placing Public
Liability and Property damage insurance on the City's ot~rned and non-o~,med
cers.
v~hereupon it eras moved by Gounci~an Gallagher and seconded by Counc9.lman
Rice that Public Liability and Property damage insurance on City's ormed and non-
ocrned cars be renewed with Pd.tiJ.H. Beach agent for the Fidelity and Casualty Co,
vahich motion upon vote eras carried,
The-mayor then called to Councils attention that the State since taY,ino
over Graham Ave? and I4?.ain St, as a state highvray have. assumed responsibility for
keeping same clean; vrhich releived dir. Heckman of this ~rorlc and suggested that
perhaps i.n lieu of'same that rfr. Heckman be required to-clown up some of the
other paved streets in the City.
'hereupon after. Councils discussion of the matter it was agreed that the
matter be referred to the Stret Committee, with instructions that they see
Mr, Heckman regssding the cl.=,aning of other paved streets.
S. H. Gunnar proprietor of the Lakeview Hotel then appeared befa-re Council
and complained of the loud music at late hours a.i. the skating rink, stating that
it ~Ta.s very annoying to his guests and had become a nuis>_.nce and asked for Councils
Cconeration in the abating said nuisance,
rlhereupon it was ag-raed by Council to safer the matter to the City Atty for
advice a.s 'to vrhat action ma.;r ba taken to abate said -nuisance.
Bob Ruskauff then appeared before Council and presented for thai-r ccnsider-
ation a proposed advertising service, agreeing to advertise Elsinore and Elsinore
Valley, by rneans of 100 pictures produced monthly of Elsinore scams, accompained
with sto-rios of interest to be released to National r.-~agazines and Press. service,
for which service he agreed to accent (~'j0.00) pa-r month. to cover cosi; of pro-
duction, said amount dso be subscribed and collected by interastd parties in the
conununity,

the Calif League of ieunicipalities, urging his aatendance a-t the convention to be
held at Del Monte-,Sept 21st, to 24th 1931, -
