A regular meeting of the City.Csiuncil 'of the City°of"Elsinore ~^aas held on the above date, The meetincr c?as called to order at the hour of 7 o'clock P.RR, with Mayor C.A. Lovejoy in the .chair. Pinutes of the previous meeting held on Aug. 10th, were then read by the Clerk and there being no eorrECtions or omissions were approved as read. The Bldg Supt's monthly report for the month of July eras then presented to Council and on motion dull made and carried was accepted and ordered placed on file. The Clerk then presented to Council a communication from ',V.VV.H. Beach calling attention to the expiration date of Ins. Policy written by his company covering the City against Public Liability and Property Dainabe on ovmed and non- om?ed cars and submitting a quotation of premium rate fora renecaal of said ins- urance.for tho coming year. ~rherenpon it was moved by Councilman Rice and seconded. by 'Counc'ilman Morton that the chair appoint a Cormai`ttoe to include hirnself'to investigate the rates of other company°s and if the-,y find that tho quotation submitted. by Mr. Beach is equitable then that it be authorized'to order the renevral of said. insurance cri.th his company, which motion upon vote was carried, The chair appointed Councilrna,n Shea.ne to serve ~:ith himself on said c onmiitt ee . Thereupon E.F. Tandy and.A.D. PdcGuire a.committee from the Boosters Club appeared before Couneil ann reported 'that the Club was sponsoring a Labor Day celabr~?tion and requested that they be gran~Ged a.permit tc-use one U1ock on train St for a street dane to be held on Saturday evening'on Sept. 5th. ?hereupon it =aas moved by Councilman Rice and seconded 'oy Councilman Sheave that the request of the Boosters Club for permit to hold a. strset dance be granted, subject to superSision of tl?e chief of Police, which mot-ion upon vote was carried. .The liayor then reported to Council that his attention ~ae.s ca]_led to the R.R. Crossing at the Pepper Grove Tract aohich does not line. up with the street and that reauest was made that Council takz necessary steps to have said crossing changed. It eras reported that this ma ter has received CcunCils n_rsvious con- sideration and that some correspondence caith the R.R. Go regarding the changing of t this crossing.,~ras on file. The Chair appointed Councilman Gallagher and Ric a. to serve on said committee. Fire 9lziaf, Tom Boyle. then reported tc Council that ?fir. Chas.. Van Fleet State Fire ~larden for Riverside County teas here u~ith a state Fire truck and asked if Council uvould not.talse time to n;ake an inspection of this ', equipment 'P~hereupon it ryas duly moved a.nd carried that Council take a `recess of 15 minutes to make an inspection of •the state fire truck.. _ 6Yfter the adjournment of 15 minutes Council returned to the Counci 1 Chamber -and ail being present took their chairs. The chair then reported to Council that he had been interuiarved by L4r. Bob, Ruskauff rsga.rding to a certain proposed advertising service for ad- vertising Elsinore and Elsinore Valley,.rvith request that he present the matter to Council for their consideration and stating,thath the estimated cost ;:_ of this .service would be about 0600.00) a year for the ?Talley, vri'th ~. proba:oie cost to 'the City of about 010,00-X15.00) per montr,. It vvas agreed by Council that said matter. be laid over for further consideration. ' The Mayor then reported that he vrith Phr. Pdeblett, Secretary the Charnber of Commerce. herd intartrie~aed'~r. Tetley StagaT'i~hwa?r Cormnissioneer regarding to •the location of a State Highway maintenance carp at Elsinore end stated -that ~the;r received favorable consideration in the rnatter tnith promise that a roz.d maintenance carip r,ould be located at Elsinore; also that they had discussed vrith LIT. Tetley the possible location of the State Pcnal L~s- titution for first offenders on a site near Temecula ~.nd suggsted Councils adoption of a Resolution exprassing,Councils willingness to co-operate v;itli the State in the maa~ker and as favoring the Temecula site. Upon Councils consideration of the adoption of a Resolution as sugges suggested by the Mayor it appeared from the discussion that a majority of the Council v:ere in favor of first ascertaining the vrish of the Temecula a'nd Murrietta people. ~, H, Gettemy thou appeared before Council and presented a pro- . .position to install threo Neon Signs at the antranca`;s to .the City. !ldorded Lalce Elsinore.
