A regular meeting of the City -0ouncil 6f the Gity of F~,lsinore eras held on the
above date.
The meeting iFras called to o der at the hour of 7 o`clock F.Ivh with Niayor
C.A. Lovejoy in the chair.
Councilmen: H. Gallagher, O.B. Sheane, S.Pd. Rice, Geo. H. Pdorton Jr, and
C.A. Lovejoy answered the roll call.

The Traasuarers uronthly report tivas then presented to Council and on motion du
duly made and. carried ~rfas accepted and.:crderEd placed on file.
Councilman Sheane them reported to Council that he had interviewed ~4r. ir:atti2t
regarding to his continuance of. making repairs on streets for the So Calif. Gas Co
and that. Pair. luiattich informed him that no job was too small for thorn to do and
expressed his desire to continue to take care of-this work end that he rectified
the Gas Co, to this effect anti instructed them to e_ontinue to have PHr. Ivlattich
talcs care of this. vrork.
Tha Clerk then presented. to Council-tyro communications from City Atty Best,
one a,ith z°eferanee,to a certain stature which proyidss that any city may cause the
removal of noxious weeds from private property by the street suparintendarst and
that the cost o2 game may be made a lien upon the property and collected with the
taxes and the other with reference to a certain stature vrliich provides that any in
corporated city may in addition to the annual tax levied for rnunibipa.l purposes,
also levy a tax for the improvement of public narks and boulevards.
~Ihereupon it was duly moved and carried that said commwnics.tions be received,
and ordered placed on file.
The Library Boards annual report on receipts and disburse-rnents for th:>.
fiscal year ending June jOth, and their budget.recomWanded for the ensuing year

thereupon it vras moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman
Pdorton that the Library Boards Report 4ie receizred and ordered placed on file for
fuaure consideration which motion upon vote vras: carried.
Upon personal application by the management of the Lakeview Hotel for a
perrnii: to continue a dance to l o`clock A.Tui. on Sat. Aug. 15ti~, to be given at
the hotel for the entartainrnent cf.the':cadets from P.4archfield it was moved by
Councilman Gallagher and seconded byCouncilrnan Rice that a special permit be
granted to the Lakeview Hotel to continua a dance till 1 o'clock A.P:, on Sat.
Aug. 15th, ,which motion uon vote vvas ca.-rried.
Council than took up for further consideration ;the report submitted. by the
Automobile Club of So. Calif pith reference to new sp.+ed signs that grill be need-
ed because of the change in the speed law and after due consideration o same it
was rno-ved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman Ti4orton that it be autlzor-
izod to place a purchase order wi't'h the Autornobilr Club of So. Calif., for the

nunioer and type of su ed signs as suggested by them, excepting that the
plain type signs Ue installed in he business zone instead of the
reflector type nrhich motion upor. vote eras carried.
_ Council~..an'Sheane then called to Councils attentian that the floor
in the City jail is in a bad and unsafe condition a:nd. suggested that
some. action be ta'.ten en the matter.
I~-hereupon after Councils consideration of the matter it zras moaned
by Councilman Gallagher and sssonded by Councilman Rice that the
matter be referred to the Police committee for investigation and that
they be authorized to have the hail floor repaired, eahich motion upon
vote vacs carried,
Resolution y~246 vacs then introducedand read, being a Resolution
_ of the City Council fining the tax`levy for the fiscal year begin-
ning July Tst,-1931, providing a tax levy on ea-clr 0100,00) of assessed

Councilman Rice that resolution ;,4246 be passed a.nd adopted wwhich
motion was carz'ied by the follov.ing vote:.

Ceunci]:man Gallagher then broughr~, up for Councils consideration
the matter of increasing the size and capacity of the old v;ater reservoir
and expressed himself as favoring. the ecnstruction of a four or file
square zaall and floor around the old reservoi„ stating that this work
can be done at a nominal cost aizd will almost double the: present capacity,
After. Councils discussion of -the.:natter it +,+ras agreed that the Council as
a. *.vhole rna'• e a trip to the reservoir site on Pdednesday at 2:30 P.ItI. for
the purpose of further considering the proposed improvement.
Bills as audited by. the euditing committee "ere then presented to
Council and on motion duly madd and on call vole carried 1c~ers ordered
paid and the Clerk was instructed to issue parrants in paymeirt of .same.
Thereupon there being no further.business to corne`befpre Council on
motion duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session
on N?onday Aug. 24th at the hour of o'clock Pa'r?, in the-City Hall the
usual meeting place.
