!€ regular meeting of the-City Council of the City of Elsinore was held on the
above date.
~ The meeting tmas called to order at 'the hour of 7 o'clock P.Pg, with Mayor
C. A. Lovejoy in-the chair.
Councilman: H, l~allaghar, O.B. Sheave, S.7vI. Rice, Geo.. H. Dorton Jr, and.
C. A. Lovejoy axsszaered the roll call.
Absent: Nona.
71linutes of the previous meeting held on July 13th, vJere then read by the Clark
and there being no corrections or omissions were approved as read.
Tha Clerk then presented to Council a corununication from D.G. Rhcdas Field
Engineer for the.Automobila Club of So. Calif. 3n ~!hich he reported on a recent
survey made by ova of their representatives for speed signs that will be required
by the Gity of Elsihore in order to conform wlith the change in 't'_ne nec,~ speed limit
la~~, and quoted prices for insta~lation of sanxe.
5~hereupon.it was duly moved and carried that the aomrnunication be received
and that the matter of placing order for new speed Limit signs be laid over to the
next meeting of ,Council for f~rthar consideration,
The C$erlc than read a comxnunicaticn frcm Sohn D. Bruhn ~. non-resident propert
owner acknocrledging receipt of notice to install a new sewer sz'rvice connection to
his. property on Riley St and asking if Council ctould not look after his propsrty on
Riley. St, and asking if Council eroulci. not. look ~.fter the in_ stallation of than ;:rork
and then bill him for the cost df same:

reply to Ltr. Bruhns letter and notify him that Council would have the cork done

Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a coxronu~ication from the State
Dept of Public Health callih~ attention to .the regular meeting of the Health
Officers section section of the Lague of Calif Iuiunicipaliti~s to be h:°ld at
Del Pitonte Sept 21 to 24 and urging Council to provide for the attendance of the
City Health officer.
±8+hereupon it°v°ras moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman
Rice that the communication fro>'t the State Dept of Public Health be received and
ordered placed on file F7hich motion upon vote, ~=raa carried.
P:Iayor Lovejoy then reported to Council that with reference to the. passage
and adoption of ~Sroposed Ordinance 213 providing for changing the name of Riley
St, to fiRcDonold St, that 112rs. PdcDonold had personally requested him to express
to Council his objection to the passage of this ordinance.
19hereupon it 4~as moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman
Sheave, t'rat proposed Ordinance 213 be laid cn the table for future consideration
w'_nich motion upon vote was carried.
Upon notice to Council by B~Iayor Lo-,~ejoy that Fi-ra Chief 'Pom Boyle had
requested that he be granted a i=leeks va.cati.on .

It was moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman Sheane
that Fire Chief Boyle be granted a :°reeks vacation. which motion upon iaate uvas
carried,
The chair then -reported to Council that Dr. Sparks of the ilsinore
Sanitarium had requested that_he be granted permission to_erect signs along
Pottery St adjacent to the Sanatorium requestimg the Public ~o regain from
unnecessary noises. ~ •
whereupon•it i°ras moved•by`Councilman Rice, and seconded by Councilman
Gallagher that the Elsinore Sanitarium be granted permission to erect such
signs along Pottery S~, as vrere necessary for the protection of their interests
which motion upon vote :vas carried. •
Councilman Sheane then reported that the manager of .the Gs.s Co ha.d in-
formed him t:.gat they would prefer to have the City make the repairs on paved streets
streets that were.-cut for making gas connections and that they vrcuid pay the
City for the cost cf the :vork,
Upon Councils consideration. of the matter it-was. agreed that the rnattar

taker that he be granted zn ineraase in salary...Councilman
Councilman Sheane reportod that upon investigation of the work to be
done at .,the Park he fel$_that it uses justified that Mr. Robinson be liven soma
..extra time.work.

salary it be authorised to give Idr, Robinson soma. extra tims work.
Pdi, Harmon Water-Supt then appeared before Council and requested that
he be granted a two e~~eeks vacation, stating •that he *ruould fix the•time uvhen
_it would be most eonveniant for his to•be absent.
Whereupon it a=ras moved by Councilman .Rice. and .seconded by Councilman.
Gallagher Ghat Water Supt, hI. Harmon be granted a tvrc weeks vacation which
motion„upon vote u~as carried..
Bills o.s audited by t_~e auditing com,nittee crere then presented to
Gounci7. and on motion duly made and on call vote carried, were ordered
paid and the Clerk was instructed to, issue-warrants,in payment. of same.
Thereupon there being no further business to come.before Counoil
on motion .duly made and carried, Council adjourned to meet in regular session
on Monday Aug. 10th, at the hour of.~oo'clock P.M. in the City Hall the usual
..meeting. place.
