City Council. of the City of 'L'lsinore d^ras held on the above. dater The meeting eras called to order at the hour of 7:o'clock P,M „+uith P!Iayor C.A.;Lovejoyin the.. chair. , Councilmen: H. Gallagher, H.O. Langstaff, S. Pd. Rice, J.E,.Iriills and C. A. Lovejoy answered ..the roll call. Absent: None, Minutes of the previous meeting held on May 11th, were then read by the Clerk and there being no, corrections or ommissions.were approved as rsad, The Clerk then presented to Council a communication from Laura S'. Burnham, Clerk of the Board of Trustees of_the ~sinore Union High School, acknowledging the"receipt of Resolution passed by. Council. relative to a tax reduction and'in- forming Council that the School Board had decided to effect a reduction in the tax rate for the ensuing and expressed their pleasure that the. City Council:was joining with them in this program, Thereupon.the C1erk.presehted to Council.a communication-from .Crouch and. Crouch Attorney: for the Brown-Crummer Ao.enclosing`a copy of demand made upon the Tax Collector of Riverside County to sell those certain. properties in, the .City of Elsinore that are delinquent because of .non-payment of assessments under the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, levied pursuant to Resolution of In- tention No. 117 of said. city and demanding that the City Council take the necessary steps to enforce a compliance by the_said County Tax Collector of the demand made upon him: Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Langstaff and seconded by Councilman Nulls that the. matter be referred to the Bity Attorney for attention and that he be instructed to reply to Atty Crouch's letter., vrhich motion upon vote ores carried, &f. Harmon Water Supt, then reported to Council that the installation of the standby boaster pump at well ~2 has .been completed and was ready for the installation of electric service for power. Whereupon it vvas moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman Langstaff, that it be authorized to enter into .a contract 4vith the So. Sierras Fower Co for the installation of electric power service at well #2 and that the Mayor and Clary, be authorized on behalf of the City to execute and contract on terms as previously submitted by said Company which motion upon vote was unanimously carried. The Mayor then reported to Council that the floor in pump house a~ caell No. 2, had been laid vrith bitumul product and .that the experiment.-.had proven satisfactory and urged that the street committee now proceed to repair the broken pavemsnt along Graham Ave. Whereupon it vras moved by Councilman P.Iills, and seconded by Councilman Langstaff that the Street Committee bs instructed to proceed to repair the broken patches in pavement on Graham Ave, which motion upon vote was carried. .Page #2 Regular meeting of the City Council Mayn25th, 1931 The Mayor then reported that he had been. solicited Yor a donation from the City_ o help defray the expense of music: for the entertainment of the bard Battery at the Womans Club Hduse and asked Council what they ~+ished to do in the. matter. after due consideration of the matter,-it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman Langstaff-that it be authorized to donate {~p20.00) toward the expsnse of entertainment of the 63rd.Battery and that warrant for said amount be-issuded to G. R. Gough chairman of the entertainment cormriittee, which mot ion. upon vote was carried, Council then .took up for consideration.the eradication of puncture vine and after some discussion on the matter it was agreed that the vaoek should. receive immediate attention. ~Ihereupon-it was moved by Councilman Mi11s and seconded by Councilman Langstaff that Mr. Hardy of the 9~ater Dept be instructed to give. immediate attention to the eradication of puncture vine on the streets of Elsinore which motion upon vote was carried. Bills as audited by the auditing committee were then.. presented to Council and on motion duly made;. and on call vote carried vaere ordered. paid and the Clerk was instructed to issue warrants in payment o£ same. Thereupon there being no further business to come before Council on motion duly made and carried Council adjourned to-meet in regular session on Iatonday June 8th, at the hour of ~ o'clock P.M. in the-City Hall the usual meeting place. er
