The meeting was called to order at the hour of ~ o'clock P.P,f. with )<iayor C. A. ~ Lovejoy in the Chair. ii I Councilmen: H. Gallagher, O. B. Sheane, S. ?~?. Rice, Geo H. >utorton, Jr., and ~j C. A. Lovejoy ans~~ered the roll. call. !f Absent: None. - ~ Idinutes of the previous meeting held on ^ec. 12th were then read by the Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions vtere approved as read. Thereupon. the Clerk presented to Council notica from G. R. Gough that Fire Ins. Policy for X500 oh the old City Hall Bldg, wauld expiry on Dec. 3i, 1932 and requested that he be advised as to Councils wishes regarding the renev~al of same. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman A~?orton and seconded by Councilman Rice i that the Ins. ?olicy on the old City-Hall Bldg, be regritten for X300 and that Pvfr. Gough be advised to this effect, *.c~hich motion upon vote was carried. ~ The chair then reported to Council that he has recei~!ed notice from Supervisors. Jameson and Stanfield that it has been agreed that the County appropriate the sum of X500 to the City of Elsinore for unemployment relief on condition that the City match said said amount and that said fund be used for man labor on streets. Whereupon it :+ras moved by Councilman Pice and seconded by Councilman dorton that the City Council accept the County's offer of :500 for unemployment relief in Elsinore and agree to match said sum and that said fund be expended for labor on streets ~.a~hich motion upon vote v.as carried. 'I f Vhereupon it ~^;as e.greed by Council that the Clerk be instructed to forward a ~ ' letter to Supervisors Jameson and Stanfield ans. also to the County Board of Supervisors expressing to them on behalf of Council their sincere thanks and apprecia i tion for their support in contributing the sum of ~'§00 for unemployment relief in the City of Elsinore. The Chair then brought up for Councils consideration the matter of a reduction in the salaries of city employees; and upon discussion of said matter it as agreed to lay the matter over for further consideration at the next meeting of Council. k Whereupon the Chair reported to Council that-the ~,'elfare Associatrion fund was very low and that there is need zfor added funds for carrying on emergency relief in the city and requested that Council give consideration to an.thorizing a further contribution to said fund. Whereupon it c•:as moved by Councilman Rice and. seconded by Councilman PSorton that it be authorized-to contribute 351§ to the "elfare Association relief fund which motion upon vote vas unanimously carried. ' Thereupon It4rs. C. Randolph appeared before Council and complained of being annoyed by crowing roosters kept in her neighborhood and requested Councils. adoption of an Ordinance prohibiting the keeping of crowing roosters in the City of Elsinore. Udhereupon it was moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman Rice REGULAR Cdr-'ETINv 0~' T?i~ CITY C;GUNCIL December 29th, 1932 that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare an Ordinance to provide for.. _ prohibiting the keeping of crovring roosters in zones 1,2 and 3 of the City of Plsinore, which motion upon vote was carried. Thereupon it was reported. to Council that 9, r'.. Stevrart has a Burroughs Adding Machine. which he ~+as villin~ to sell to the City for X35 and .apply said'.a amount to payment on his delinauent license Tax. Y.~hereupon it was moved by Counciaman °.4oxton and seconded by Councilmen Rice that it be authorized to purchase the Burroughs Adding Pfiachine from A. ~?. , Stet+art for X35 v;hich amount is to be applied as credit on his delinquent License Tax, which motion upon vote was carried.
