Councilmen: H. Gallagher, O. B. Skeane, S. P(; Rice,. Geo. H. Dorton Sr, and

P:4inutes of the previous meeting held on Sept..26th *aere then read by the
Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions vrere approved as read.
Thereupon t'.ne Bldg. Supt's rnonthiy report for the rnonth of Sept: ~,aas presented
to Council and on motion duly made and carrier eras accented anc] ore'ered r;laced on
file.
','!hereupon the Treasurers monthly report ~rJas presented to Council and on motion
duly made and carried '•aas accepted. and ordered placed on file.
The Clerk then presented to Council a communication from the P,aiiroad Commission
advising thz,t the question of rates of the Sr„ Sierras Posner Co, has not been lost
sight of a.nd that Council may e::pect to hear from them again at an early .date in
this regard.
Vhereupon it eras duly moved anr] carried that said communication be recsi.ved anc]
ordered placed. on file,

','.'hereupon it :as duly moved anc; carried that said bulletin be roc^ived and
ordered ol.aced on File.
The chair then called Councils attention to the collection of dirt on Graha.ri
Ave. e;~ashed dov~m by the- recent rain and suggested that Council take some action or
that matter.
Upon Councils consideration of the matter it 'as ag,-eed to first ascertain
if the state !~~ou1d not remove same.
thereupon it yeas moved by Councilman Gallagher andseEcnded by Councilman
Shea.ne that the P,`ayor be instructed to ascertain from District n2;ineer Sullivan
if the State .!ill take care cf the v:ork an6' if not that it be authorized t'.nat the
City have the dirt removed vrhich motion upon vote c>as unanimous!,! carried.
The Chair then reported to Council i;hat he too;: it upon k;imssl_` tc for»ard
a recuest to the Count/ Board of Supervisors asking t'rem to order the grader to
go over the Ortega higl.raa:y and that as a result said *.°aork, has 'coon ordered done.
Council thin took up for consideration Ord. y{'214 recently adopted vroviding
for a license fee en .~11_ persons making sale or delivery of mdse.. from trucks
or autos and it ~e~a.s reported that said ordinance ~-eulrt To into force »:nd effect
on Oct. 14th, the 30th day after publication. v

P.?orton that the Chief of Police be .instructed to notify all persons subi°ct
tc a`license tax for making sale or deliver;r of gcods, ~=cares or merchandise ;
from trucks or automobiles, and secure from them the r_ame a.nd address of the
Company they represent and file sa*ne ~P~i_th the City Cleric for purpose of bil'.irg
them for license tax due and that he report monthly to Council. on results
attained, erhieh motion anon vote c:as carried.
The Clerk then reported to Council th,t he had been notified by the
Corona ;sundry of their suspension of business in Elsinore and z°eo,uesting a
refund For the unexpired term of their License ahd the Clerk asked to be advised
erhat action to take in the matter.
Udhereupon it eras reeved by Councilman iciorton ar_d sec nded by Councilman
Gallagher that the Clerl: be instructed to return license to the Corona Laundry
with notice that refund on same arras refused by Council ti~?iich notion upon vote
~ra_s unerimousiy carried.
Pills as a.uoi_ted by the auditing committee sere t'r,en presented to Coureil
and on motion duly made a.nd en call vote carried mere ordered. paid and tr,e
Clerk sas instructed to issue c•:arrahts i.n payment of same.
Thereupon there being no further business to come befora Council, on motion
duly made and carried Council adjourned to =nest in regular session on IuIcnday,
Oct. 24, at the hour of ~ o,cloek p, m. in the City Hall the usual meeting
place.
