Z9. 32 j A regular meeting of the City Council of .the City of Elsinore was held on 'the above date. The ;neeting was called to order at the hour of '] o'clock P.Td. with P;iayor C.A, Lovejoy in tho chair. Councilmen: H. Gallagher, O.B. Sheane, S.P,i. Rice, and C„A. Lovejoy answered the roll call. Absent: Councilman:. Geo. H. .Norton Jr. Diinutes of the previous meeting held on April pith, ~=rere then read by the Cler Clerk-and there being no corrections or omissions ~r~ere approved as read... The Clerk then presented to Council a cormnunication from cVm.0. Grossman, cer- tified Public Accountant, addressed:.to iuiayor C,A, Lovejoy in response tc his re- quest for references regs.rding his qualification fcr making an audit of the accts and records of the City of .Elsinore far ~•rhich.he had been av/arded a contract. Whereupon it ~;as moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman Rice that said co:nraunication be received and ord;;red placed on file, crilich motion upon voto was carried. The Clerk then.. presented to Council .a .cor;~ununice<tion from the Supt .of the St:-r; Dept, of the City cf Riverside calling attention to the quotation submitting. cost per gallon on Cold Pen Dust Cure, and enclosing a corrected bill covering the six drums de'_ivered to the City of Elsinore. ;8hereupon it ,~,as agreed by Council that the corrected bill be approved a:nd accepted and ordered paid. The chair then reported to Council. that in consideration of the City, grading and filling Silver Street, adjourning Mr. ~arbcroughs property that he ha.s filed with the .City Clerk a (~5G,00) cash deposit. to shoe; gcod faith in riaicing certain improvements .on his_property as agreed upon. Council then took up fcr consideration the matter of standing water in the Temescal ditch and it was reported that said condition was caused by lc-sakes in the Temescal `Water Co`s pipe line and. upon due consideration of the matter it Baas agreed by Council that the Tuiayor and Clerk be instructed to call on the officials c of the Temescal '~°water Co with the view of getting them to take necessary action tc correct this ccndition, Thereupon G,R, Gough administrator for the Horton Estate ra.ppearsd before Council and su'ornitted a ;oronosed to sell to the City the prcpcrty nosy leased by the City and used for a City Hall, stating that they ~rJOUld accept 05000.00) for this proparty and that they v:*ould be willing to accept the north 2~ feet of the. lot on Tufain St, owned by the City at a price of 02500) tc be applied or: the puroh~se price of said property. Whereupon it was agreed by Council that tho matter be taken under advisement. Council thereupon furti.err=considered plans for the constr,action of a. Barber had called to his atteh- tion that the Clevelin Realty Corp have oa~fered to furnish the City ~~;ithout cost, trees for planting on Hampton Heights a.nd asked Council if'they c~isned. to taY.e any acticSn on the matter. irJhersupon after due consideration cf tl;e matter it was moved by Councilman ,Rice and seconded by Cduncilman Sheane t'_~,at Mr.. Barber_be:appointsd to secure suitable trees for planting and that I~r. Harmon be inst~uctod to install ne- cessary pipe line to irrigate said trees by a drip system, c:hich motion upon vote :Fra.s carried. Council then considered a bill presented by the Elsinore Booster Club for (v37.5C1 refund for cash advanced.by them to.tha Elsinore .Band for music and instruments and it ~;~as agree;d by Council that City should suppcrt the band. 'v'lhereupon it was moved b~CC,Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Qouncilman Sheane that tlae bill for f~37.50) presented by the Booster Club bo allotted and paid and that. instruments purchased become the-property of the City of -Elsinore, erhich motion upon vote etas: unanimously .carried... . Bills as audited by-the auditing committee ~:~ere then presented. to Council a.nd on motion duly made and on call vcte carried were ordered maid and the Clerk i~ras instructed to ise,ue eaarrants in payment o£ same. Thereupon there being no further business to cane before Council. on motion duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session on .onday P~iay 9th, at t'r,e hour of 7 o'clock P.Ivi. in .the City Hall the. usual meeting place. ~. -~ r lerk
