A regular meeting of the. City Council of the City of Elsinore rass held on the
above-date,

Lovejoy in the chair.
Councilmen:, H,Galla~her, C.B.. Sheave, S,I;i..Rice, G.H. TuTorton Jr, and. C,A.
Lovejoy ansaaered the roll call.
Absent: Hone.
Iuiinutes of the previous meetingheld on Feb. 3rd and Fa~rch 11th, r•.ere then
read by the Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions vrere approved
as read.
The Bldg Supt's monthly report ores then presented to Council aild on motion
dul,r made and carried was accepted and ordered placed on file.
'dd~iereuoon the Treasurers monthly .report iuas presented to Council and on
motion duly made and carried eras accepted and ordered placed on file.
IN'nereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication frern.i,irs. 9. T,
~oxlcy requesting Council to authorize the installation of a street light at
the corner of E, Heald and E.. Graham ave.
.:Upon :Councils consideration of the matter it was agreed -tha't the cl!air
appoint a committee to make an investigation and report back to Council,
The c$a.ir appointed Counci_lraen Sheave and Rice to serve on the carnmittse.
The Clerk then presented to Council a. communication frorz Dr. S,lJ. Brimhall
City Health Officer advising Council that a server pipe delivering from -the
property of Pdrs. Seward at the corner of Spring and I~dinahorn Streets ?aas
broken and is discharging its contents upon he surfaco of the ground thereby
constiluting a nuisance and a menace to health and requested that Council give
the matter immediate attention to 'the end of correcting said condition,
thereupon after Councils discussion and consideration of the matter it *ras
agreed that the cizair take up the rna.tter with E.G. Sullivan State high!^ray
District Engineer and request him to order the repair of said sec;er line, as
the highway department was responsible for its being brol.an.
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication from the Veterns
17e1fare Board petitioning the Council for a. cancellation of taxes age.inst
real property o?=reed by said Board in the City of Elsinore.
It Bras reported that since the City does not make assessments and collection
of its ovm taxes that action an said matter was not necessar;,r and it ~.;a.s ordered
that a reply to said connnunication to this effec'c be referred to the Clerk.
The Clesrk then read a. communication frcrn J.C. Ileblett Secretary. of the Elsinore
Chamber of Commerce reporting that Geo. Kellogg Secretary of the Imperial Highvra+
Association Baas in Elsinore last week in the interest of the Imperial Highway and
had solicited some financial assistance from Elsinore for the expense of this
nrork.
Iilr, Heblett suggested that if the Council vrould agree to subscribe 05.00)
a month for a period of a year that he ?.=ould endeavor to raise (u5.00) a
~ month more from the Chamber, service Globs, and other volunteer subscribers ?=P_nich _.

Ths chair then reported to Council that if any change in the salary ordinanc
ryas conterzplated that action on se~te crculd have to be taken at this meeting as
otherwise-the =ala.ry of electise officers ~oulci not be effective.
It wa.s agreed that no action be tc=..;:en.
Thereupon the ruatter of the publication of the Clerks annual dot^iled re-
port ~•ras again brought up for ccnsideraticn.
IRihereupon it was moved. by Councilman Sheens and seconded by Councilman Rice
ths.t the City Attcrney by instructed to furnish Council with written opinion as
to publication of the Clerics annual detailed rerort vrhich motion upon vcte eras
carried.
Thereupon Council further discussed and considered the matter of re-hanging
the sign across the highcray at the Easterly entrance to the City, and it eras
ag,-eed that the matter. be referred to thz St'reot Committee wit}i authority to re-
hang said sign providing that the cost not exceed the snm of {10,00}.
Bills as audited by the hudting Committee Isere thin present:ad to Council
and on motion duly made and on call vote carried t:ere ordered. paid and the Clerk
was instructed to issue crarrants in payment of Sarre.
Thereupori there being no further business to coral before Council on
motion dc.ly made, a.nd carried Ccuncil adjourned to meet in regular session on
_ icionday P+iarch 213th, at the hour. of 7 o'clock P.If4. in the City Hall the usual
meeting place.
