SipNO AROFORM G3O A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore-was held'on the above date. The.'meetingwas called to order at the hour of:~ o'clock P.M: e:ith Maycr C. A. Lovejoy in the Chair.. Councilmen H. Gallagher-, 0. B.`Sheane, S. M. Rice and C. A. Lovejoy ansv.ered the roll call. Absent: Councilman.Geo. H. P.4orton Jr. Minutes oi' the previous meeting held :on Sept..2§th. were then.ra;ad by the Clerk and-there being nn corrections or omissions r;ere approved as read. The Bldg. Supt's monthly report was then presented-to Council and on motion presented to Council and on motion duly made and. carried was accepted and ordered placed on file. Thereupon the Treasursr's monthly report v~~as presented to'Counci:I and on motion duly made and carried ~.a§ accepted-and ordered placed on'fi e. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the waitteri application of Lucille Ccleman for an Cn Sale Beer License, business to be ccnducted at corner of Lowell and Pottery Streets. "'hereupon it was moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilmra.n Shenne that Lucille Coleman be granted_an-Ch,Sale Boer licnse and that the C1=rk be instructed to issue same, rhich motion upon vote was unanimously carried. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communic-;tion from the State Railroad Commission with reference to past correspondence relative to the rates of :.. the So. Sierras Pov,er Co. reporting that studies of th^ir rates are being made which should be completed crithin approximately cne months time and th^.t it is t?~eir hope that as a result of .these studies and the .commissions informal negotie.tions with the Company which •ill follow, a reduction in rates can be made shortly there- after. .. ?Nhereuoon it was duly moved and carried that said communication be received and placed on file. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a domnunication from the Clevelin realty Corp. stating th=,t they can secure a reduction in their present insurance rate providing that the City v,~ill furnish them with a letter to the effect that in: the event of any fire in the-ir subdivision they vi ill respond io any .alarm and endeavor to put out any fire ~.thich may occur. Upon Councils consideration of the matter it vacs agreed to cooperate ith the Clevelin Realy Corp. to the extent that they are willing to respond to any fire alarm from their'Club Bldg, pier or nearby homes but that thsy cannot agree to cover their entire subdivision. ':'hereupon it was mowrd by Councilman Gallaghsr ?nd senconded by Councilman. Sheane that the matter be laid on the table c:_nd in the mean time that the City Clerk be instructed:to.confer u:ith the Clevelin Co. and: have amore definite underst_~nding with tt;em as to the area to be covered, vahich motion upon vote .>as carried. Gas Go. ~:-ith the iassachusetts Bonding and Ins. ro, as surety, said bond-c~vering franchise granted by Crd. ~ 19.8 end requesting Councils approvafl of the nev; bend and cancellation of the old'bcnd, releasing both the principal and surety bn the eld bend. "'hereupon it wes moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilmen Sheane that the ne; bond filed by,the So .,.Calif. Gas.,Co.,~ith the 1;Yassachusetts Bonding and Ins. Ayes: Councilmen Gallagher, Sheane, Rice and Lovejoy.. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Geo.'H..Niortcn Jr. Thereupon the Clerk reported to Ccun it th=,t upon making ra check of the records he ascertained that the ccntract between the City and Roy Macy covering the sale of garbage has expired on Aug. 9,..1933• 'Nhereupon ii V;as moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman Sheane t., .:that notic by publiahed:inviting sealed bids or proposals to be :received and considered by Council at their next meeting Cct.-.23rd, sr=.id b ds to be submittec to cover collection and disposal of garb~~.ge either combined or separately, which motion upon vote wzs carried. H. piorten Jr. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Cc~ncil a communication from E. C. Sullivan, Highway District Engineer requesting to be informed as to the annual cost of main- t nance of electric lights and care of shrubbery on parkways along the designated state highv;ay passing through Elsinore. "hereupon it was moved by Councilman 'Rice and seconded by Councilman Sheane that the City Clerk. be instructsd to ascertain the annual cost of lighting and care of shnubbery along the streets designated as State Highways and to forcuard this information ;o E. C. Sullivan, Highv;ay District Engineer, which motion upon vote vas carried.
