A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore s:as.held on
the above date. The meeting was called o order at the hour of 7 o'clock P.M.
with bfayor C.. A. Lovejoy in the Chair.
Councilmen H.-,Gallagher, O. B. Sheane, S. M. Rice,: Geo. H. PFortonJr; a.nd
C. A. Lovejoy ansvrered the roll call.
..Absent: .None.

Clerk and there being no corrections.or.omissions were approved as read.
Thereupon he Clerk presented to Council a communication from F; C..Callatz
giving Council notice not to pay Clarence Holt any more than X25.00 of the re-
fund due on.rhis cancelledbeer license and that previous order filed authorising
refund to be paid Clarence Holt be considered cancelled and void.
• 'Ahereupon it eras moved by Councilman F.ice and seconded by :Councilman Sheane
that the Clerk be instructed tc issue a demand to cover a refund. of X25.00 in.
favor of. Clarence Holt and that the.balance due of ~8.34:be held up until said
-matter is settled by parties in dispute, which motion upon vote was,c~+rried.
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication from L. B. Taylor
calling attention to the dangerous, condition of, the sidewalk:<at the :Sterling
Pharmacy corner; also in front of the. barber shop on tiYain $t. and suggesting
that proper steps be taken to have the necessary repairs .made. for safety.
`Nhereupon it was agreed by Council that the matter be referred. to the Street
Committee for investigation and that they be authorized to have dangerous places
in sidewalks rei~aired.
.The Clerk then reported to Council that his attention has 'been called: to

St. and that it was suggested that Council take-:some action on the matter.
T?'hereupon it eas moved by Councilman P~ice;.and seconded by Councilman Sheane
that- he Clerk be instructed to write to the Auto Club_of So. 6alif. a.nd request
them.to install e: sign on N. kain! St._ indicating a left hand_curve o I~inthcrn
St. a!hieh notion upon vote ~;;as unanimcusly carried.
Thereupon the Clerk reported to Ceuncil the=t he was requested by J. T.
,Crackle to call to Councils attention that because of the lack of proper
drainage on .Hill St. flood-weters moss and damage his property and requested
that Council take acticn to remedy this situation.
__ !?hereupen it was agroed by Council that this matter be referred to the Chair
for his attention.
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication from Arthcur D.
Earl, with a sealed bid for a one year contract covering the collection of
garbage and rubbish in the City of i~'lsinore.
Upon Councils consideration of said matter it was moved by Councilman Rice
and seconded by Councilman Sheane that the sealed bid of Mr. Earl be lsid over
for future consideration and that the Clerk be instructed to ascertain the

the expiration date of the existing garbage cc~tract a.nd tc report on the matter 'to
Council at their. next meeting which motion upon vote was carried.
The Chair then called to Councils attention that the first allogation of
gasoline tax money would likely be received by the city:.during the coming months
and suggested. tY:e consideration of the proposed improvement of Graham Ave. vrith.
oiled shoulders.
yhereupon it .was moved. by Councilman Rios and seconded:by.Coixncilman Sheane
that the Chair be instructed to ascertain from the State Highway-rapt:. what .their
recuirements will be regarding oil shoulders on Graham Ave. and to report on same
at the next meeting. of Council, which motion upon vote was carried.
Thereupon the Chair presented for Councils consideration the proposed
improvement cf Heald Ave. approved for R. F..:C. aid and suggested that said:.street
be improved with a desert mix, R. F. C. money to be used for labor and funds to
be raised for ail, from property ownersbenefited by the .improvement. ;:
Plhereupon it urea moved by Councilman Sheane and seconded by Councilman Rice
that the proposed project of improving ~`: Heald Ave: by applying a desert mix for
a width of thirty feet and a distance as far as available Funds ~~ill go, be
approved and authorized, which motion upon vote was carried.
Thereupon it was reported to Council that certain parties from°Los Angeles.

R'hereupon it was moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman Skeane

The Chair then appointed-Councilman Skeane to serve permanently on the.
Auditing Committee.
Bills ca audited by the Auditing Committee were then presented to Council and
on motion duly made and on call .vote carried, were ordered paid and the Clerk.-was
instructed to issue barrants in payment of same. : - _ _
Thereupon there being. no further business to come before Council on :motion
duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session on PSonday'Cct.
9th at the hour of 7 o'clock P:pd: in the Clay Hall, the usual meeting place.
