A. Lovejoy in the Chais.. Councilmen H. Gallagher, 0. B. Sheane S. b?. Rice and C. .A. Lovejoy ansF;ered theroll call. Absent: Councilman Geo. H. f~SortonsJr. Minutes of the previcus meeting held on Aug. 28th were then read by the Clerk and there being no corrections or omissicns users approved as:read: Thereupon the Clerk presented tc Council the.Treasurers'monthly report was presented tc Council and on motion duly made and carried was accepted and order- ed placed cn file. The Clerk then presented to Council-a communication received from City Atty. Eugene Best regarding the matter of refunds due,on beer licenses issued to F. C. Collatz also J. Zacharias, stating that'in his opinion and in accordance with the provision of the Beer License Ordinance, syid parties are entitled to a refund of X33.34, Whereupon it .was duly. moved and carried-that said couununication be received and placed on file. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication from the State Camp Ins. Fund eith enclosed endorsement in duplicate for the purpose of amend- FFing policy J-25176-33 to shovr the increased rate for volunteer firemen in compliance with the. re cent amendment to the,Gompensation Lai=, and requesting signature and return of the duplicate copy for their. records. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by"Councilman Sheane that`the A?ayor be authorized to sign, the endorsement. showing tie .increased. rate for Volunteer Firemen's-Compensation Ins. which motion upon vote zwas-carried. -Thereupon the Clerk>presented to.Gouncil a"communication From Haight and Tippet Atty-'s for the administratrix of:the estateof Q. H: h?orris; deceased,- offering to sell to the City the property known as the Brennecke Amusement Park for the sum-of x`5000.00 cash subject.. to confirmation by the_Court. -FPhereupon it e:as duly moved and'earried that said communication be received and placed on file and that the'Clerk be instructed to reply to. ame. Thereupon the Clerk presented ta.Council a communication from F. C. Collatz giving Council notice that it is his desire to recind a previous order given. to Council to pay to Clarence Holt, the refund due him on cancellation of his beer license and instructed Council. that sled refund due be mode payable, to himself. Upon Councils consiceration of said matter it was agreed that no refund ~be made untill said matter o£ license refund, in dispute, is settled by parties involved as to who is to rightfully receive same. Thereupon the Clerk presented tc Council a communication from Jack Green agent for the firemen's Fund Indemnity Co. submitting a bid for Public REGULAR MEETING CF THE CITY CCUIQCIL Sept. 11, 1933 Liability and property damage Insurance on City owned and nonowned'motor vehicles, quoting a premium rate of $201.05 tc cover said insurance. ~9hereupon it was moved by Councilman Gallagher that the Public Liability Ins. be rer_ewed with "', "l`, H. Beach. The motion receiving no second the Chair declared the motion. lost. Whereupon it.was moved by Councilman Sheane and seconded by Councilman Rice that Jack Green, agent for the Firemens Fund Indemnity Co. be avaarded the Public Liability Ins. with the under standing ,that his Company makes a satisfactory refund on the cancelled policy covering Volunteer Firemen which motion vras carried by the folloRing vote: Ayes: Councilmen Sheane, P.iee and Lovejoy. Morton Jr: Thereupon the Chair reported to Council th=a he was in receipt of a com- munication from the League of California Municipalities calling attention to the City having dropped its membership and urging a,reconsideration of the matter e.nd soliciting the: City for a renewal-of its membership, which matter was-presented by the Chair for Councils consideration, Whereupon it was agreed by Council the-t said matter be laid over for further consideration end that the Chair be instructed to reply to said communication giving them riot ice that the matter is being.. considered.- Council then took up for consideration the matter of purchasing a supply of engine oil for the City "`ater Dept, it being reported that the L'nion Oil Co. submitted a price quotation of 15zs~ per gallon. Whereupon it eras moved by Councilman Sheane and seconded by Councilman Gallagher that it be authorized to place an,order with the Union Oil Co. for 10 bbla of ; heavy engine oil for. the water Dept, at a price of 15.'-z¢<per gallon, which motion upon vote ~a:as carried. Thereupon Council took up for consideration the matter of-delinquent v:ater bills and-upon discussion and consideration of said matter,'t vras moved byCRice and seconded by Councilman Gallagher that the Clerk be instructed and authorized to allow a 30`x'discount on'all delinqueht water bills if pa.ic,in full on or before Nov. lst, 1933> also. that it is heraby:ordered by Council: that all current bills' must be"paid including one months delinquent bill or water service is ordered to be turned off, which motion upon vote was unanimously carried.- At the request: of Councilmen Gallagher the Chair appointed Councilman Sheane to serve on the Auditing Committee..- Bills as audited by the auditing committee were then presentaci to Council and on motion duly made and on call vote carried were ordered paid and-the Clerk was instructed to issue vrarrants in payment of same. Councilman Gallagher voted yes on all bills except for Special Secz,er. Thereupon there .being no further business to come before Council on motion duly made and carried Council adjcurhed to meet in regular session on N,onday Sept. 25th at the ho of ~-o'clock P:M. in the City Hall the usur-l .meeting place. ~r , MayoY~ lerk i I i
