Lovejoy in the Chair. Couhcilmen H. Gallaghea, C. B. Skeane, S: RR. Rice, Geo. H.',rllorton Jr. and C. A. Lovejoy answered the roll call. Absent: None. Minutes of he previous meeting held on Aug.,l4th were then read. by the Clerk and there being'no corrections or omissions c•ere approved as read. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the written application of the Riverside B,~lboa Co. for an Cff Sale beer license, -- 9hereupon it eras moved by Councilman S Keane and-seconded b, Couhcilman PIIorton, that the Riverside Balboa Go. be granted am Off $als beer license v.hich motion upon vote was unanimously carried. - Thereupon the Clerk presences to Council the-s;ritten application of Clarence Holt for an Gn Sale beer license at 115 So. Main St: Elsinore. `avhereupoh it-v<•as moved by Councilmen Gallagher. and seconded by Councilman Skeane that Clarence Holt be granted an Cn Sale beer license vhich motion upon cote cvas unanimously carried. _ Thereupon the .Clerk presented to Council xitten notice received frcm Sohn Zacharias proprietor of the Olympia Cafe also from F. C. Coiiatz operating the Silver Sandwich Shop, that' $hey'vrere discontinuing business and each making application for a refund on beer license paid, For the unexpired term as provided by City Ordinance. Thereupon it :gas moved by Councilman'Rice and seconded by Councilman Skeane that the apalcatons -for refund on 'beer license by the Clympia Cafe and Silver Sandvich Shop be xeferred to the:-0ity Attorney for his opinion and interpretation of the provision bf:the City:. Beer Ordinance regarding the amount of refund due, ' erhieh motion upon vote vvas carried. Thereupon: the Clcrk presented to Council a communication from "'. {'. H. Beach agent for the "fidelity and Casualty Co. of N. Y. giving Council notice that the Automobile Public Lia'oil.ity and Non=ownership policies covering the City.?•rould expire on Sept. 12th and solicited Council nor a renev;al of<this business at t^e same premium rate of X201.05. Absent: None REGULAR IuLETING CF THE CITY COUNCIL Aug 28th, 1933 Thereupon Council,fux•ther censidex•ed the previcus appointmerit'of L. T^aniels' as officisl City Pond keeper, it being reported that City Crd. # 175' provide s° -- ths.t the Pond peeper shall receive a fee of $1.00 for each dog disposed of end ` 50¢ per day for food and it being previously understood by fidr. ?~aniels that his appointment mas authorized on condition that the City v:ould be at no expense, "'hereupon it eras moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman Skeane that the Clerk be instructed to secure from PEr. Thereupon Resolution ~ 265 was introduced a.nd read being.a Resolution of the City Council Fixing the tax .levy for the fiscal year beginning July 1st, 1933 and ending June 3oth 1934 ,. and providing that there be levied; upon all the taxable property within the corporate limits of the City. of Elsinore, Riverside County California, advalorem taX:es as follows: General Fund- ° -------------94¢_ Library Fund------°-------.15¢ . Thereupon Council took up for further consideration' and discussion-:the matter of rental license and upon due :ccnsideration of said matterr. It was moved by Councilman tdorton and seconded by Councilm_m ShFane hat the discount for prompt payment-of rental license bs increased from 30%; to 50%:ef'fective. as of July 1st, 1933 and also that the Clerk be authorized:to allow a.30~ discount on all delinquent rental licenses providing that payment of same is made within 60 days from date, which motion. ~.-a carried by the follo~;~ing vote: Ayes: Councilmen Shsane, Rice, Morton and Lovejoy, Noes: Councilman Gallagher. . 'fib sent: None. Upon the request of Councilmen Gallagher the Chair appointed Councilman Skeane to serve on the Auditing committee. Bills as audited by"the auditing... commutee v.~era then pre canted to 4ouncil and on motion duly. made and on call cote carried were .ordered peid;and the Clerk Mae instr~:cted to;issue caarrants in payment of same, - •- Ccuncilman Gallagher voting yes on gal bills except f.or Sp.
