A regular meeting of the, City Council of the City of Elsinore was held on
the above date. The meeting was called to order at the hour of 7 o'clock P.:v1.
eith h9ayor C. A. Lovejoy in the Chair.
Councilmen H. Gallagher, C. B. Sheane, S. M. Rice and C. A. Lovejoy
ans~r:ered the roll call,
Absent: None.
Minutes of the previous meeting held on July. 24th mere then read by the
Clerk and there being ne corrections or omissions F4,-ere approved as read.
Thereupon the Bldg. Supt's monthly report was presented to Ccuncil and on
motion duly made"and carried was accepted end ordered placed on.file.'
°whereupon the Treasurers monthly report ubas presented to Council and on '
motion duly made and carried was accepted"and ordered placed on file.
Thereupon a report rendered by the Chief of Polioe`on results obtaineri from
a canvass of the City fer the collection of dog tax was submittod to the Council
and on motion duly made and carried was accepted and Chief Barber gas ordered
to continue his enforcement of the dog license ordinance and the co=lection of
all dog taa due the city.
Thereupon. the Clerk presented to Council the written applic=~tions of
wm. C. Reidler, M. H. ?"esner and fin. w. Evans for the position of extra police.
The Chair reported that Hillis Smith aT§o'filed an oral application v~ith
.him for said position. '
whereupon it was moved by Councilman Gallagher that M. H.""esner by appointed
to fill the position of extra police.
The motion receiving no second the Chair declared the motion lost.
Upon further consider'-t ion of siad applications it gas agreed that the matter
be left to the Chief of Police and the Police Committee.
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication from E. C. Collatz
requesting Councia to take nacessary action to ea.ncel the 50~ per barrel beer
tax and to reduce the Cn Sale beer license to x"10.00 per year.
'€'hereupon it was moved by Councilman Gallagher and seccnded by Councilman
Rice that said communication be received and placed on file for future considera-
tion which motion upon vote tisas unanimously carried. •
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication fiord E: Ci Collati
Secretary of the Booster Club, requesting Council to authorize a X50.00 donation
to .the Club to help defray expenses incurred in circulation of petitions and
attendance.. at various meetings in an effort being made to prevent the removal
of the tripping .Springs prison Camp`.
whereupon it was moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman Sheane
that said communication be receivedand placed on file which.motion upon vote
was carried.
